Sunday Look: Shades of Blue

Happy Sunday!  Each week we get closer to our summer coming to an end.  I still have so many (summer) things I would like to wear, but I feel like I’m running out of time especially with Labor Day right around the corner 🙂 .  This morning after trying on a few different outfits I decided on this ribbed country blue sheath dress with attached belt and side slits.

I accessorized with hints of pink and different shades of blue.  My necklace actually had two different shades of pink and blue and hints of white.  My earrings picked up one of the pink colors in the necklace.  Instead of my normal jewelry I mixed it up by wearing pink fashion rings on each hand. I chose an open toe block heel shoe in blue as well.  You might think, that’s a lot of blue.  It is, but it isn’t, the different shades of blue helped to break things up.   And by adding pink, that broke up the blue even more.  NO RULES…

My BAG was also blue 🙂 . I’ve carried this bag before and I still love all the heavy chain trim and quilted detail.  Like last time I shorten the strap to carry as a handbag instead of a shoulder-bag.

Sunday Look: Pom, Poms and Tassels

Happy Sunday!  It’s been a busy last couple of weeks.  Last week we were in Oklahoma cheering on our grand daughter at her basketball regionals.  I’m last posting today as well.  I was out school clothes shopping for one of our grand girls. Taking advantage of tax free shopping.
As the summer season trickles down you can still take advantage of all the summer trends.  Todays outfit is a bright bohemian burst of color shift dress with cold shoulder cutouts and a bouquet of multi colored tassels and pom-poms.  I have a feeling these trends will continue into the fall months.

I continued the tassel trend by wearing like colored earrings.  The bouquet of tassels and pom-poms took the place of a necklace.  Mules with a neutral and colorful strap finished the look.

My BAG today was a neutral tote with a pom-pom/tassel charm.  I thought it was a fun addition in keeping with the theme.
We all know trends come and go.  I like to hang onto things because eventually they make a comeback 😉 .

Sunday Look: High-Low Tank Dress

Happy Sunday!  Are you all melting like I am?  We have had one of the hottest weeks ever.  Trying to keep cool has been my focus.  Today’s outfit was purposely chosen for this heat. Not a lot of color, but surely cool and comfortable.  I’m wearing a high-low tank dress made from a very lightweight cotton fabric.  The high-low concept has been a fashion trend for quite some time now.  I feel it will always be a top look, you can always find this style in tops, skirts and dresses.  This tank dress can be dressed up or down.  I’m sure when it gets cold (if it ever does) it can be worn with a turtle neck and accessorized accordingly.

In order to dress it up a bit I accessorized with a STATEMENT necklace, (is it perfect or what?). When ever I see an item of clothing I always have a piece of jewelry in mind. And I’ve been saving this necklace for this dress 😉 .  Earrings in a similar tone and shape followed. Of course I’m never without my usual bracelet(s) and watch.  I let go of my Fitbit for a moment LOL…  It wasn’t very hard to choose a shoe for today’s outfit.  I knew in advance that I would be wearing a nude color pointy toe heel.

My BAG today was an all time favorite, the iconic monogram  canvas handbag. This is the perfect bag for any occasion or outfit.

Sunday Look: The Trapeze Dress

I’m back!  Last week I was on vacation and didn’t have a free moment to blog. If I get the chance I may do a short blog about my vacation.
Today’s outfit was fun.  This was my first time wearing what they call a trapeze dress (I think).  It’s like a tent so I guess the name is appropriate! And did I say I LOVE IT… LOL.  Its a smock black and white pinstripe dress, off the shoulder neckline with avant garde ruffled sleeves that create this totally on-trend silhouette.   Since I wore this dress to church I kept the shoulder exposure minimal. Trust me when I tell you its so cute totally off the shoulders. Remember what I said about the shoulders being the sexiest part of a woman’s body 😉 .

There was no need for any kind of chunky or statement necklace.  I did wear a simple choker.  I really didn’t need anything except for the usual lady accessories; earrings and bracelets.  I chose open strapy heels to finish the look.

My bag today was an edgy black tote with studs and  silver rings as handles.  It’s amazing how certain bags go well with certain outfits.  I seem to get it right every time!

Sunday Look: Lace Skater Dress

Happy Sunday!  It’s another HOT one today.  Today’s outfit, this sweet lace skater dress.   It’s so girly, makes you feel like twirling LOL!   Lace is one of those summer fabrics that can be worn in a variety of ways.  This particular dress would be perfect for attending a wedding, bridal shower or just a girls night out.  The possibilities are endless.

In keeping with the girly theme I thought I would be sweeter by adding pearl accessories.  After all pearls are always appropriate.  I kept the shoe nude, but it had to be a pointy toe 😉 .  A strappy sandal would have worked as well.

Did you think you would see this bag again so soon?  Like I said, I’m obsessed with this Ark Bamboo handbag.  Its the perfect summer bag.  I could carry it all summer long.

Sunday Look: A Nod to the RED, WHITE & BLUE

Happy Sunday! Well, the July 4th holiday is upon us.  No better time to wear a little bit of RED, WHITE & BLUE… to celebrate the holiday.  Last week I mentioned that would be mixing old and new pieces together for the summer.  These (old) white slacks scream summer.  To complete the look add a little red and blue to the mix.  A blue peplum halter top suited the straight legged white slacks perfectly.  Every woman should own at least one Halter Top, it exposes the sexiest part of a woman’s body ” her shoulders”.  No matter a woman’s size her shoulders are very sexy!

Now that you have the White and Blue all you need is RED.  Red shoes complete the look.  Today I opted for a softer round toe platform heel verses my all time favorite pointy toe heel. Change is good, in this case either one would work.  No wrong choices here.

The peplum top is very detailed around the neck, NO necklace required.  All I had to do was add my usual pieces, earrings and my go to bangles.  Today I rocked three glass bangles in the RED, WHITE & BLUE (clink, clink)!

Let’s talk about my BAG;  I spotted this (showstopper)  RED tote bag on a mannequin.  I immediately hightailed it over to the purse section.  I couldn’t find it anywhere 🙁  so I did the next best thing, took it off the mannequin!  What else was I to do? I wanted this bag.   Today was my first time carrying it.  It’s HUGE and I love it!  This bag is going to be great for traveling I can already tell.  It will hold all my essentials… and more.   My daughter has already put claims on it LOL 🙂 . It’s still available online by the way.

Enjoy the July 4th holiday and all the festivities. Be safe and… How are you rocking your RED, WHITE & BLUE?

Sunday Look: Old Meets New

Happy Sunday everyone!  Summer has arrived and I’m feeling the heat.  My summer wardrobe will be renewed styling.  How? I will mix and match some of my older summer wear with any new pieces I happen to pick up this season. The goal is to not break the bank, stay stylish and cool! no pun intended. 🙂

Today’s outfit is a combination of old and new.  This one piece spaghetti  jumpsuit deserves a second or even third wear.  When old meets new it all becomes new again.   The new is this colorful kimono.  When I first saw it I knew how I would style it.  It’s giving me a Japanese inspired look.   This kimono can easily be paired with a skinny jean or shorts & tank, sundress, leggings and used as a swimsuit cover-up.  The styling possibilities are endless.

My accessories consisted of my usual, earrings, necklace and bracelet. I chose open toe cork heels to not compete with the kimono.  The kimono is so colorful it doesn’t need any help. BUT….

My BAG, OMG I am so obsessed with the Gaia’s Ark bamboo handbag.  I didn’t hesitate to pair it with my kimono for a Japanese inspired look. Styling success! I’m so obsessed, don’t be surprised it you see it again and again…

Don’t hesitate to bring out the old and mix with something new!

Sunday Look: Relaxed Frayed Jeans

Happy Sunday everyone, I’m back.  I missed last week due to being so exhausted.  Our oldest grand daughter graduated from High School and we threw her a graduation party that left me with all kinds of aches and pains 🙂 .  Thankfully I’ve recovered.

Today was a casual Sunday.  Casual meets comfort in these mid-rise, bootcut jeans with slits at the bottom and the best part “frayed hems“.  They are so chic!  I could have paired my jeans with just about any top.  But, there is noting like a crisp white blouse.

When it came to accessories I kept it simple.   A long beaded bling necklace and long beaded earrings.  You all know I’m never without a bangle or two.  I thought I would step up my game in a pair of comfortable open toed platform heels.  They are comfortable because they are old and broken-in LOL!

My BAG today was this large denim tote.  Sometimes a big bag is just better!  It was a perfect choice for todays outfit!

Sunday Look: Lace Mesh Sheath

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  Today I paused for all of our fallen men and women that allow us to be FREE!  Today in honor of Memorial Day, I wore our country’s colors Red, White and Blue.

This lightweight sapphire lace mesh sheath dress was perfect homage to Memorial Day.  A lot of ladies think they cannot pull of a straight silhouette dress.  But I’m here to tell you that you can.  You all know I’m no size 2.  This silhouette can be very flattering especially when it’s cinched at the waist.  The waistband is built-in on this dress, that eliminated the need for a belt.  Love how the lace is see-through at the bottom, shoulders and back.  The diamond mesh overlay provides tons of venting for a hot day like today too!  I feel really good in this dress.

Blue earrings served as my main accessory. I didn’t need a necklace, the scalloped neck with the same diamond mesh detail was enough.   And I’m never without a bracelet or two 😉 .  Of course I had to wear RED shoes!  This patent leather shoe has a bit of a platform and pointy toe was the only choice.

My BAG, a flap clutch had all the red, white and blue I needed to round out this color scheme.

Sunday Look: Spring Wings

Happy Sunday.  We are having a beautiful Spring day!  The temperature is perfect.  Today’s outfit “Spring Wings” comes from this dress I’ve had in my closet for three seasons now.  I actually thought I would never wear it.  Today I saw it in a different light, LOL.

The cape sleeve has been trending, this dress even though it was purchased three seasons ago is still with the trend.   The fabric is very light weight and perfect for Spring.  We all know black and white to be classic no matter the season.

I accessorized with a rose cut detail necklace that falls right above the neckline.  My earrings happen to be clip-on (boy do they hurt!) but I thought they went well with the entire look.  And pointy toe shoes!

My BAG was a fun touch.  This silver hammered box clutch (didn’t hold much) was the perfect (silver)  accent piece. I ♥ my BAGS.
