Sunday Look: Navy & Pink

Hello and Happy Sunday…. It has been a while. So much has happened over the last few weeks. The saddest being our little feisty dog “Winston”, passed away, he was with us for almost 15 years. Talk about hard, it was such a traumatic experience that we have decided to NOT get another pet. We miss him so much and think about him everyday. 🙁

WINSTON

On to happier times…. Spring is in full bloom and while I haven’t worn a lot of Spring fashions I’m ready. I’m so behind on my manicure and pedicure. Speaking of manicures, I’ve really started to embrace the Spring like colors. I’ve always adored colorful nails on everyone else and wondered if I would ever go down that road. I did and I love it! Stay tuned for my next color choice. Today’s outfit was part of a theme. It was “Women’s Day” at church, the colors were navy and pink.

I wasn’t about to go out and purchase an outfit just for today. I knew I had to have something in my closet that fit the theme. I decided on a navy pant suit with a pink top. I have a funny story about this pant suit. I purchased it twice, yep I did. Luckily I was able to return it when I realized the duplicate. I’ve never done that before. I must really like it I guess. 😉

The matching suit features a slim leg pant with pockets and a tie belt. The jacket is a tuxedo style jacket with not buttons. It has three-quarter length sleeves that are gathered in the back. It’s very light weight and perfect for Springtime. This suit is very professional, fitting for the office or boardroom. I incorporated pink with a sleeveless top with attached tie for knotting or bow. I just tied a bow.

Accessorizing was simple. Pink ball earrings with a touch of bling was all I needed. The tie served as a necklace. I wore a very textured high heel pump that incorporated a variety of colors including pink. All I had left to do was pick a handbag. I went for a colorful little bag that went well with the entire outfit. Simple styling is the best. 🙂 🙂

Style Tip: If you are short in stature like me, you will find that most slacks are too long. These were, I didn’t like the gathering at the ankle. I simply turned the hem up one time. Perfect length !

Sunday Look: Vintage Tea

Happy Sunday…. Man what a rainy weekend we’ve had. When I say it has been pouring buckets, I’m not kidding. I had to cancel plans on Saturday due to the weather. So, what did I do? I played dress-up in my closet. If you need something to do on a rainy day, try playing dress-up.

This morning was raining buckets again. Even though I decided last night what I was going to wear, I almost changed my mind because of the rain. I almost went super casual by putting on jeans and rain boots.

So let me spill the tea about today’s outfit. It was all about the top, I really didn’t want to waste it on jeans for the first time. As I was playing dress-up yesterday, I decided on these black palazzo pants (with pockets) to pair with this rose colored, very detailed vintage tiered lace top, featuring tiny like pom poms. The added detail of ruffled sleeves with the same tiny pom pom details and high neckline added to the vintage feel.

I played off the tiny pom poms in my accessories. I had these multi strand pom pom earrings with a matching necklace. I was like, this is the perfect combination! I love when that happens 🙂 . My palazzo pants are pretty long, I needed a high heel shoe so they wouldn’t drag the ground (especially in the rain). I chose a simple pointy toe heel.

I wanted my BAG to be equally as fun. I pulled out a round handbag with fringe details.

This top can be toned down by pairing it with a pair of black jeans. Exploring the possibilities could be fun.
