Sunday Look: Off- The- Shoulder Jumpsuit

Happy Sunday!  Just like last week I’m still trying to find outfits that are cool while remaining respectable for Church.  I accomplished that with this off- the- shoulder jumpsuit.

This jumpsuit is a linen and cotton blend (gives you less wrinkles than 100% linen). Linen is the perfect summer fabric!  I also love how the fabric depicts flowers, bees and plants, so SUMMER right? The puff sleeves has a tie and a flounce.  It also has POCKETS!  Notice the tapered legs.

I accessorized with a wide textured necklace that has semi clear stones.  My earrings mimic the same stones in the necklace.  I also added a wide bracelet and two loose bangles. I pulled out the yellow in the jumpsuit by adding a skinny yellow belt to the elastic waist.  When wearing linen with tapered legs you have to wear strappy sandals  😉 .

My BAG today was a twist on FUN… a wristlet in the silhouette of a yellow taxi cab.  It’s such a fun and unexpected touch.  Since linen is a casual fabric I didn’t want my BAG to be too formal.
Style Tip: If you wanted to take this outfit in a different direction, replace the heels with flats, lose the necklace and tie a yellow scarf around your head or neck.

Stay cool  my friends…

Sunday Look: Summer Style In A Kimono

Happy Sunday!  What does one wear when it’s so Image result for sun HOT out?  I know it’s a struggle to keep cool while trying to be fashionable.  The first thing that comes to my mind “sleeveless”.
Today I took the perfect little sleeveless summer dress and paired it with a Kimono. (I wore the same dress in a different pattern a few weeks ago).   A Kimono can take a simple dress and turn it into something more stylish.  I love♥ how this look turned out.

Accessorizing was so easy too!  I picked two colors from the Kimono and used those colors in my accessories. My necklace made a statement.  I coordinated earrings and bangles to finish my jewelry look.  My shoes had to be platform peep-toe heels for the greatest impact 😉 .

Style Tip: One way to make your necklace a statement piece, combine two for one look.  If you really want to make a statement, combine two different colors which is what I did for this look.

My BAG today,  an orange handbag with a detailed “X” pattern on the front flap in addition to a decorative gold clasp and chain.   Perfect bag for this outfit.

Sunday Look: Eyelet Lace Flamenco (High-Low)

Happy Sunday to all.  I hope everyone had a great week. I have an exciting week ahead, we have company coming for a week.  I still have so much to do.  Stay tuned to my FB and IG stories.
For starters, I tend to be a little color blind.  I usually rely on the tag to tell me what color I’m wearing.  No such luck today.  I’m sticking with neutral.
Today’s outfit is a two-piece eyelet lace flamenco (or high-low).  It reminds me of the Chiquita Banana dress! 🙂 .  I was so excited when I saw this outfit.  Anything that’s suppose to be off the shoulder I’m here for it! (style tip: if you have trouble keeping the top in place try using double sized tape).  Secondly, I love the fit of the skirt, it hugged me just right! 😉

I took the opportunity to go big on one of my accessories.  I’ve been wanting to wear this necklace for over a year and it never looked good with anything.  Not today, it paired perfectly with my off-the-shoulder top.  I opted for smaller earrings so they wouldn’t compete with the necklace.  Bangles on each arm kept with theme.  I chose an open toe sandal with a chunky heel and pearl detail.

My BAG today, I took the opportunity to carry a new handbag.  It went well with my neutral outfit, I love the floral detailing which added some additional color.  (style tip: smaller handbags are on the rise).

Sunday Look: Paperbag Waist Pants

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone had a fantastic July 4th holiday.  As you may have noticed I did not post a blog last week.  The main reason, I wore a suit that I had previously blogged two years ago. But! I’m back this week with a new outfit to share.
Some might be saying what are paperbag waist pants?  Paperbag waist pants are loose fitting pants that happen to be very comfortable.  They have a slightly higher waist and tie at the waist making a ruffle detail.  In order to make the waist stand out as intended, you should pair them with a tighter fitting top for a flattering silhouette.

I think I accomplished just that by pairing my paperbag waist pants with a tight fitting floral mesh top.  The colors mimics Summer.  The shimmer of the pant fabric makes them dressier and perfect for Church.  I can also wear these pants to work or a night out on the town.

I accessorized the outfit with tri colored jewelry, it picked up on the colors nicely.  I was so inspired by the top, I decided to go with a floral strappy sandal.

My BAG, I was further inspired by the floral top and shoes that I continued with a beautiful floral clutch.  The details on the bag are FABULOUS!

I hope you’ve learned a little bit about paperbag waist pants and I certainly hope you try a pair. You won’t be disappointed 😉 .
