Sunday Look: Heritage Sunday- An African Celebration

Hello, Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine Weekend.  I sure did. The husband and I managed to snag a dinner reservation at the last minute. I skipped last weeks Blog Post, the dress I wore was previously blogged back in December of 2016, it still fit! ↓↓

Last October, I walked in a fashion show wearing a local designers African Clothing.  I was able to purchase a few pieces afterwards.  I wore one of the pieces for my birthday photoshoot last month.  This dress is called “Apuk”. ↓↓

Every February our church celebrates Heritage Sunday. It’s such an exciting time.  Today we had African Dancers accompanied by drummers. And a sermon fitting for the occasion. That brings me to today’s outfit. It was originally suppose to be a two piece pant suit.  Unfortunately the pants were too big (I guess I lost a few pounds since I purchased it).  I searched my closet to find something that would work with the jacket. I remembered I had this little green dress from a few years ago that I’d never worn.  I was wowed at how the two went together.  I took the sash from the jacket and used it as a high-waist tie on the dress. Instant gratification!

The accessories had to fit the occasion.  I always try to pull out one color in the fabric to accessorize.  Round disc earrings and my go-to wooden multi-colored beaded necklace paired ever so lovely.  I didn’t have green heels, (which I think would look amazing) I opted for a neutral high heel pump.  I love when the unexpected comes together.

My BAG, an Ark shaped bamboo handbag finished the look.

There is BEAUTI  in everything, find it…
