Sunday Look: Stripe Tent Dress

Hello guys! Happy Sunday…. It’s been a while since I’ve shared.  I was down for a while with bronchitis and asthma. I didn’t bounce back quickly. I’m so happy all of that is over, thank God.

Last night I picked out a few things to wear today. You never know what the weather is going to do around here 🙂 . I wasn’t sure what I was going to wear until this morning. I picked this long sleeve plum and grey stripe tent dress that I’ve had for a couple of years. Actually, everything I’m wearing today is at least a couple of years old.

The dress hits right above the knee. I had always planned on wearing knee high boots with this dress.  This style dress is perfect for a knee high boot.  For a finished look I opted to wear plum/purple tights. I chose a long grey necklace, beaded earrings and bracelet for my jewelry pieces.

My BAG today was a small beaded bag with a long linked chain. It was the perfect little understated shoulder bag for this outfit. This bag is very old, about ten years or so.

I’ve been trying to think of a ways to get the most out of my wardrobe.  I’m thinking about doing a series of Blogs where I will be wearing an outfit for a second time. I will change it up with accessories. In addition to extending my wardrobe it will save money too 😉  .  I’m up for the challenge, should be FUN.

Sunday Look: The Power of Red

Happy Sunday everyone! I missed you last week… Everyone knows how I love the cold right? Well, last week for some reason the wind cut right through me, it took hours for my body to warm up. I was like, what’s happening? Living in Texas you can count on experiencing all four season in one week. You’d think I would be use to it by now (HA!)

Well, today was a cool day and I was prepared. Yes, I wore a coat for a change. I don’t get many chances to wear one being the hot box that I am. I figured today was my best chance.

If you know me, you know that my favorite color is RED. When I saw this red and black animal print dress with high collar and long sleeves I had to have it. I didn’t try it on before I purchased it (wish I had) I could have sized down one. (Unfortunately this particular dress is sold out. I will link a similar one down below). I also purchased this red one button double weave coat with front pockets. I didn’t have a solid red coat in my wardrobe. It helped that it was on sale too! The dress and coat turned out to be a perfect combination for not being planned.

I decided to accessorize with black accessories. I wore extra long black earrings with a black/gold necklace. And I used a black ribbon as a belt. Instead of wearing pumps I wore black knee high leather boots with a medium heel.

My BAG today was a faux leather flap bag. It was all about the black accessories.

Everything I wore today is on sale “now” get them while you can.

Sunday Look: MOD

Happy first Sunday of 2019… Guess what guys? It’s my birthday week! My birthday is in two days. I’m so excited. 🙂 . Do you get birthday perks from merchants? I’ve gotten freebies and percentages off from jewelry to food and everything in-between. I may not be able to use them all, but I’m certainly going to try 😉 .

Is this weather playing tricks on us or what? That’s Texas weather for ya! I had to completely change up my wardrobe plans for today. The forecast wasn’t favorable for what I was planning to wear.

Today’s outfit, a matching two piece (sold separately). A MOD long duster-inspired vest with oversized patch pockets paired with slim straight leg pants. This look is so retro, especially the print. It reminds me of the 70’s. Plaid has been a huge trend for the Fall and Winter seasons. I should be able to restyle this outfit by wearing the pants without the vest and pairing the vest with jeans or a long skirt with boots.

It didn’t take much to accessories this outfit. A long pearl & gold necklace and earrings did the job. I wore cream colored suede pointy toe pumps. Wearing the lighter colors enhanced the colors of the plaid.

My BAG, a cream fold-over clutch with patches of animal print. I thought it would be fun to mix the plaid and animal print. I love mixing different patterns and textures together. The two paired very well together.

Sunday Look: Coat Dress

Happy Sunday… I missed you guys last week. I had my (red) outfit all ready. I had the worst allergy attack. How can this be the last Sunday of 2018? What a year, huh!… So grateful I’m still here to see it to the end. How many of you make New Years Resolutions? I don’t, I try to make goals and hope to see them through.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, ours was blessed. It was a great day for family. Now it’s time to take down all the beautiful decorations.

Even though Christmas was in the seventies, today we were in the thirties and that made me so happy. It was the perfect day for actual winter clothing.

Today’s outfit was a Green Paisley Jacquard Bell Sleeve coat dress with double breasted bodice. This coat wears beautifully buttoned up. I wore a short black sleeveless dress underneath (just in case) 😉 . This coat is not new at all. I’ve had it several years and I never remember to wear it. So happy I remembered it today! 🙂 .

Style Tip: If you are wearing a coat as a dress make sure whatever you wear underneath does not hang longer than the coat itself.

Since it was a cool day and “coat weather” I added black gloves (my mother’s gloves, which made them special) and stockings. I also accessorized with a black beaded necklace and black earrings. I chose a pointy toe black pump to finish off the look.

My BAG today was a quilted faux patent leather satchel featuring a flat top handle. Such a cute little bag that happens to be very roomy inside. Perfect bag to play dress-up.

I wish each of you a safe and Happy New Year. Lastly, what are you wearing New Year’s Eve?

Sunday Look: Draped Neck Cardigan & Faux Leather Skirt

Happy Sunday!  I’m enjoying the cooler weather we are having.  I mention that because last year we really didn’t have many cold days.  I have all of these really cool winter clothing that I haven’t been able to wear in almost two years.  Well today that all changed.

I’ve been hoarding this draped neck cardigan for two years I know.  It’s quite warm and I wasn’t able to wear it before.  I was so excited to do so today.  This cardigan is knit with a half faux leather and knit long sleeve in a dark green.  I had every intention of pairing it with the exact skirt you see here.  I’ve been hoarding this skirt also.  This midi skirt in a green faux leather with front split and front pockets!  The two pieces complement each other well. (I won’t be linking these two since they are two years old and sold out).

If ever an outfit called to be accessorized with boots, it’s this one.  Black leather boots worked well to complete this look.  You know, there is something about a skirt with a front split and boots! 😉 .  I kept the other accessories to earrings and a long necklace only.

My BAG today was a round handbag with fringe and small gold studs.  I thought it worked well with the boots in particular.

Faux Leather Fact: Faux leather is usually made from “Polyurethane” a non-animal product.  It’s actually a form of plastic.  Unlike leather, it can be washed and comes in many different colors. Lastly it’s cheaper than leather (rightfully so) but you can get the same great look for a lower price.
