Sunday Look: Hawaiian Burst Jumpsuit

Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day!  I’ve seen a lot of posts going around honoring  Dads. That makes me so happy to see them being celebrated.  We celebrated my husband today as well.  My father is no longer with us, I honored him too.
Let’s talk about today’s outfit.  I kept it pretty simple again this week.  I eyed this colorful jumpsuit a couple of months ago and thought it would be a staple in my wardrobe this Spring and Summer.  The wide leg jumpsuit with a floral motif featuring a surplice neckline, spaghetti straps, ruffle trim, a sash and best of all an abstract pattern at the hem.  That set the tone for my “neon” accessories.

I accessorized with that same accent color in my earrings and necklace. I added pastel yellow and green bangles as well.  My neon pumps evened out everything.  That leads me to a Style TipPick out one color in an outfit and play off that color. You will be surprised how well the outfit pops

My BAG today, a pastel green quilted bag with a fold over flap and gold chain.

Sunday Look: Church Picnic Gingham Style

Happy Sunday!  I seem to be really into gingham 🙂 . I’ve worn it a few times in the past weeks.   I’m very casual today, I have a good reason, today was our Church picnic.  What does one wear to a church picnic when you’re aiming for casual, comfortable and cool because it’s 100 degrees outside?  And be presentable for Church at the same time.

I specifically planned this outfit for today.  I thought it was the perfect picnic attire.  I chose an orange and white gingham smocked off-the -shoulder top with a long bell sleeve.  The back is accented with a bow. I paired it with a khaki ankle pant.  Pretty simple yet still cute right?   I accessorized with brown wedges and chose to wear wooden jewelry pieces and a wide gold bangle.

My BAG today was a bamboo circle body, beaded shoulder strap with a flat top closure.  These bamboo bags are trending big time right now.  That brings me to my next bag, Gaia’s Bamboo Big Natural.  I’ve wanted this bag for quite sometime now.  It’s perfect for a picnic, pool parties or the beach. It’s to die for…  😉 .  Best of all it’s collapsible, making storage easy.

Sunday Look: Floral Burst Sheath

Happy Sunday and welcome to June.  One thing that’s trending this Spring and leading into Summer are floral prints.  I’m always attracted to floral prints  and end up second guessing my decisions.  It almost happened with today’s outfit.

This dress looked really great on the hanger, I wasn’t sure if it was for me.  For starters it’s a little longer than I normally wear my dresses 😉 .  And I wasn’t really sold on the the floral placement.  But honey, after I put it on….  I’m in See the source image …  The fit is perfect, I’m not concerned about the length at all. The floral placement is perfect after-all, so vibrant. The three quarter length sleeves adds a touch of “classy” that I may have not gotten had it been sleeveless.  The boat neckline is so beautiful, it happens to be one of my two favorite necklines (the other one being off-the- shoulder). I love how it defines my neckline.  I also love the exposed zipper in the back.  I’m so happy I went with my first choice.

A dress like this can stand on its own.  I accessorized with long dangle earrings to draw attention to my neckline.  I’m never without my go to bangle 😉 .  I opted for my favorite pointy toe high heel pumps, I think they really finished the look!

My Bag today a faux reptile print black with gold trim and chain envelop cross-body.  Outfit complete!

Ladies, you see those calf muscles? I got them from wearing high heels 🙂 .

Sunday Look: Gingham and Boots

Happy Sunday!  Rain, rain and more rain is how our Sunday started.  I’m very particular about what I wear when it’s raining.  I tend to dress a little more casual and carefully choose a shoe that doesn’t get ruined by the rain.
That’s today’s outfit, a casual gingham dress in black and white .  It disguises itself to look like a skirt with the side tie.    By the way gingham is trending.

I really wanted this look to pop and come off as being edgy.  I think I accomplished that by leaving the top three buttons open and adding a chunky necklace in the space.  I turned the cuffs up to revile the striped lining for a contrasting look. The icing on the cake, white ankle boots.  Not only are they stylish but they were the perfect footwear for a rainy day like today.  I’m loving how my legs look in these boots, this calls for a 😉  😉  LOL!    Had I not left the buttons open and kept the sleeves un-cuffed, it would have resulted in a very different look.   Don’t let these white boots scare you either.  They were trending BIG TIME this past winter.  Not many would dare to wear white boots in the dead of winter season.  BUT, Fashion is passion and I’m passionate about my FASHION…  anyway, a boot like this is ok to wear during the Spring and Summer months, it’s all up to you.  “If you like it, wear it”  that’s my  motto.  And I like it!

My BAG today was a white tote with ring handles and studs.  It sealed that edgy look I was going for 🙂  .

Sunday Look: Mother’s Day – Sheer Box Pleats

See the source image

It’s Mother’s Day…  Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers and Mother figures, hoping your day has been a blessed one.  Mine has been great!  So I will keep today’s post short and sweet 😉 .
Every Mother’s Day I have this vision of how I want to look.  I think Mother’s Day is extra special.  I had my heart set on wearing white.  When I was a little girl my mother would always dress me and my sisters in white.  We all wore a red carnation See the source imageto signify our mother was living.  She wore a white oneSee the source image .  You don’t see that anymore.  Oh! the memories 🙂 .
Today’s outfit, a cream colored sheer box pleat dress.  It was the perfect Mother’s Day dress.  When it came to accessories I chose one of my two favorite necklaces, no other would do.  I paired that with long pearl earrings and bracelet. I chose a fabric platform high heel sandal with a sweet little side flower.  Everything went together well.

My BAG today  a cream colored “doctor bag” with gold trim. It held all the extra necessities.

Sunday Look: Peach and Pearls

Happy Sunday!  Here we are again, blessed with a new month along with new adventures.  You know what that means, Mother’s Day is only a week away.  I posted my  Gift Giving Guide last night. You can find it following this Blog Post or search for Mother’s Day May 13, Gift Guide.  Feel free to share!

Mother’s Day Gift Guide
See the source imageThey say “April Showers bring May Flowers”.  It’s true just look at my dress.  Today’s outfit is a little peach floral swing dress.  I’ve always been a fan of the scuba like fabric.  The halter neckline makes it the perfect dress for Spring.   I feel this particular halter neckline is appropriate for church, the silhouette is not as revealing.  You could easily add a Spring cardigan for more coverage.

Accessorizing this dress was a no brainer to say the least.  The color definitely called for soft pearl jewelry.  A long pearl tassel necklace was the ideal choice for this neckline.  I added earrings set with multiple pearl and clear stones and a pearl bracelet. But the showstopper for me, were my champagne colored, block heel sandals embedded with pearls across the toe strap and heel.  I purchased these shoes about two or three months ago, they were a great find.  I wondered what I would pair them with besides jeans.  They served their purpose today by dressing up my little peach dress.  I recently shared them on my IG page styleyourbestbeauti  follow me for more fashion and fun stuff.

A little dress calls for the perfect handbag right?  I chose this peach flap bag with partial gold chain.  Yep, I did  it again choosing the right handbag for the right outfit 😉 .  I love when that happens.

Sunday Look: Casual Cold-Shoulder

Hello!  You ever wake up and say to yourself, I really don’t feel like dressing up today?  Well today was one of those days.  As I was looking for something to wear this morning, I passed on anything form fitting, long sleeves and slacks, even though I tried all of them on 😉 .
So happy I ran into this little playful cold-shoulder grey and white stripe dress.  It met all my needs.  There are so many myths about wearing stripes, especially horizontal stripes.  Let me debunk your worries.  They say stripes make you look fat, they draw attention to certain areas of your body, blah, blah, blah …  IF YOU LIKE IT, WEAR IT!  “They” can’t tell you what to wear or how!  That’s one of the reasons I started my BLOG.  I wanted to inspire the everyday women and let them know they can be who they are when it comes to fashion.

Enough of that, LOL… a dress like this is so easy to accessorize.  Let’s just say I added a little bling, bling with a large rhinestone necklace and long drop earrings.  As for my love of bangles, I piled them on today.  Lastly, a strappy sandal anchored it all together.  I had to show off my fresh pedicure 😉 .  NOW! since this dress is so casual and had I not been wearing it to church, I would have styled it differently.  I would have worn a simple hoop earring, watch or charm bracelet, no necklace and flat blingy sandals.  Pretty sure I will repeat this dress this summer styled as such!  Stay tuned.

Let’s talk about my BAG… First things first,  I watched this bag like a hawk until it was marked down.  I got very lucky and got it for the low, low price of 6.99 from $49.99.  I don’t usually talk prices, but this was a STEAL of a DEAL.  I love how large it is and it’s a conversation piece for sure.  You can also fold it over to make a clutch.  It’s a faux reptile print, side zipper and functional lock with key.  Fun, fun, fun…

Sunday Look: Dot, Dot, Dots

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Hope you all had a great week and did something fun.  You know, I had this idea that I wanted a new dress, I haven’t purchased one in a while.  Instead of going out for a new dress I decided to shop my closet.  There is always something new (even if I’ve had it for a couple of years) hiding with the tags still on it.
Today’s outfit a black and white fit and flare pleated dress with a solid black bodice and tons of black dots.  I’m pretty sure that was the attraction.  I actually played with this black and white theme a bit.   I had the option of a black shawl in case I got cold.  It looked really cute draped with the necklace.  I wasn’t cold therefore I didn’t need it.  Just an option other than the usual cardigan for those that feel uncomfortable being sleeveless for various reasons.

Speaking of twists, I love pompoms and pompom clip-ons, they can make a boring shoe pop!  I tried something a little different by wearing one each of the black and white pompom.  Totally outside the box and a fun addition.

I’m in love with this black and white pearl beaded necklace.  It’s always a conversation piece whenever I wear it.  I thought it paired well with the dress.  I also wore black and white round earrings.  I wanted to do something other than pearls.  I also added bangles on each arm.  I felt really put together in this outfit.  Black and White is so classic it’s hard to get it wrong.

My BAG today was an all white (chanel inspired) handbag trimmed in chain link.

I never talk much about make-up.  Today I went with a red lip and a smoky eye.  I like it you guys!

Don’t be afraid to step outside the box every now and then.  You just might like it 😉 !

Sunday Look: Relaxed Frayed Jeans

Happy Sunday everyone, I’m back.  I missed last week due to being so exhausted.  Our oldest grand daughter graduated from High School and we threw her a graduation party that left me with all kinds of aches and pains 🙂 .  Thankfully I’ve recovered.

Today was a casual Sunday.  Casual meets comfort in these mid-rise, bootcut jeans with slits at the bottom and the best part “frayed hems“.  They are so chic!  I could have paired my jeans with just about any top.  But, there is noting like a crisp white blouse.

When it came to accessories I kept it simple.   A long beaded bling necklace and long beaded earrings.  You all know I’m never without a bangle or two.  I thought I would step up my game in a pair of comfortable open toed platform heels.  They are comfortable because they are old and broken-in LOL!

My BAG today was this large denim tote.  Sometimes a big bag is just better!  It was a perfect choice for todays outfit!

Sunday Look: Lace Mesh Sheath

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  Today I paused for all of our fallen men and women that allow us to be FREE!  Today in honor of Memorial Day, I wore our country’s colors Red, White and Blue.

This lightweight sapphire lace mesh sheath dress was perfect homage to Memorial Day.  A lot of ladies think they cannot pull of a straight silhouette dress.  But I’m here to tell you that you can.  You all know I’m no size 2.  This silhouette can be very flattering especially when it’s cinched at the waist.  The waistband is built-in on this dress, that eliminated the need for a belt.  Love how the lace is see-through at the bottom, shoulders and back.  The diamond mesh overlay provides tons of venting for a hot day like today too!  I feel really good in this dress.

Blue earrings served as my main accessory. I didn’t need a necklace, the scalloped neck with the same diamond mesh detail was enough.   And I’m never without a bracelet or two 😉 .  Of course I had to wear RED shoes!  This patent leather shoe has a bit of a platform and pointy toe was the only choice.

My BAG, a flap clutch had all the red, white and blue I needed to round out this color scheme.
