Happy Sunday… Today outfit was another attempt to be cool and comfortable. I chose this Chambray top and linen pants.  This is the first time I’ve paired the two together.  At first glance you might say that’s denim, but it’s not…  Chambray and denim are often confused for one another, there’re not exactly the same fabric.  Interesting fabric tip!
As you recall from past posts, I Love Linen (not the wrinkles though) LOL!  Linen is the perfect summer fabric and we are in the heat of SUMMER!
The two different fabrics work well together.  No harm in experimenting… you never know until you try!
I always like to play of my neck with a bold piece of jewelry especially is my outfit isn’t speaking for itself.  I’ve worn this necklace before.  The earrings are new and matched the necklace perfectly.
Keep cool if you can… until next time…

I just could not resist the opportunity to blog about the “All White” themed dinner party I threw for my daughters 31st birthday last week. I was easy as 1…2…3…
The very first step in planning such a party is the guest list. I knew I wanted this to be an intimate affair. No more than twenty people including our immediate family. Second, choosing the Venue that could accommodate such an event. Not just any Venue but one with great food. Since it was a birthday party I had to have a cake. I chose a local bakery that was not only talented but made the cake transport easy. You can’t have a party without flowers. Again, I chose a local florist that has the reputation of not letting you down no matter her designs. For an added decorative touch I incorporated white framed photographs of my daughter through the years. I also wanted the night to me memorable.  I included a simple parting gift that did just that…
Once all that is done, you have to find an outfit LOL… In keeping with the theme “White Party” I had to find something white not only for me but for my daughter. Sometimes finding the perfect clothing in white can be challenging.  As for me,  I love to wear white. Problem is white doesn’t like me. Somehow I always manage to get a spot on me before I even leave the house. Not wanting to break the bank on an outfit (did that on the party) I was searching for something fashionable of course.  After cruising the local mall for a full week my daughter and I ran across the perfect outfit for me.  Finding hers was not as easy, but we finally found something she was happy with, you know how it is… you know it when you see it!
This strapless jumpsuit was an excellent choice for a summer night “white party”.  But! the best accessory to this entire outfit , my very bold choker. IT’S BIG… and I LOVE it… 😉 .
All and all the party was easy as 1..2..3.. and a great success. Needleless to say my daughter was very happy.  And we all walked away without a spot on us!
Party planning is a lot like FASHION… NO RULES… Are you planning a party soon? Need some tips, I’m here just ask.

Happy 3rd Sunday!   Let’s talk SIMPLE dressing.  How can one take a simple Tee Shirt and pair it with a printed pencil skirt, bold jewelry and a hot pair of pumps?  Well that’s exactly what I did… It can’t get any easier than this.
Now lets talk about this fun necklace.  When I first saw it I was like OMG this is mine!  Lucky for me it was on clearance.  So were the earrings. Bold jewelry didn’t get the name “statement”  for nothing.
There is nothing hotter than a pair of HOTT pumps.  That pointed toe is everything.  🙂  I think I LIKE it… better yet, I LOVE it!!

Happy 4th of July Weekend.  Today I chose to salute the red, white and blue.  I took simple street wear pieces and made a patriotic outfit.  Using just your basic red slacks, blue blazer and white sleeveless top.  Very minimal accessories was needed.  Adding the scarf was the final salute to the outfit.  Today I have another fun bag “red sequence” nothing like a little added bling.  See me waving my flag and the pool water reflecting on my face, LOL.  Enjoy your extended weekend.  I’m off to start the festivities…

With tomorrow being Independence Day, let us not forget all the men and women of the military that protect our homeland so we can be free.  I SALUTE THEM!

Happy Sunday!  Well we’ve completed our first full week of Summer, can you tell?  In keeping with casual Sunday’s to “beat the summer heat” I chose the ultimate summer clothing “linen”.  Nothing says summer like linen.  Even though it’s one of my favorite summer fabrics I can never really get past the wrinkles LOL.

I chose this tangerine linen jacket the complement my “wide leg” white linen pants. In an effort to keep cool (temperature wise) I wore a simple white cami under the jacket.  My statement piece my necklace (its huge) but I LOVE it!  My fun piece my bag.  I’m done LOL…  until next time… KEEP COOL if you can…

Happy Sunday!  Today’s outfit consist of this  full pinstriped skirt.  Who doesn’t love a full skirt.  It certainly fits my body type and all other body types too.  It kind of makes you want to twirl… 🙂

I really adore this scuba like fabric, its so light weight and comfortable.  And with this intense heat I’m all about comfort.  Keeping with being cool, I chose this sleeveless blouse with lose tie.  I wore a thin chained necklace, it didn’t photograph because it was hiding behind the tie. Something else you can’t see in the photo are my awesome cuff earrings.  You can also wear a cuff earring on one ear and a stud or something else in the other ear.

My shoe of choice was this strappy blue sandal, some bangles and funky magazine hand bag.

Style Tip:  I love to mix in an element of surprise and my magazine hand bag does just that, SURPRISE!!!

Oh! and Happy Father’s Day to all the awesome Dads out there… especially to my husband and son.

Today was Picnic Sunday… What does one wear when church is combined with picnic day?  So happy you asked?  I knew I needed to be comfortable, cool and appropriate.  I chose this long denim button down with high side slits top.  I paired it with a soft stretch denim legging.  You know I’m hardly ever without my heels.  I can maneuver just about any terrain in my heels 😉  (I always keep a back-up pair of flat just in case).

Let’s talk accessories… A friend gave me a set of string button necklaces.  They were the perfect accessory to this top.  I knew I wanted something long.  I wore two, left one long and doubled the other for a more layered look.  Simple right?  My other favorite accessory was this denim bag.  It added something whimsy to the entire outfit.  Oh! how can I forget about my SUPER SIZED SUNNIES, so obsessed, LOL.  Didn’t need much else and the look was complete.  Until next time, have a great week!

I’m back!  Last week I was in beautiful Florida and Savannah Georgia.  It was a great trip, happy to back blogging.

Since the heat has set in I chose to dress casual by going Boho Chic.  This style of clothing is so relaxing. Boho got its name from hippie and gypsy fashion.  The loose fitting clothing leaves you feeling so FREE… LOL

As I was shopping one of the big discount stores I saw the skirt first and liked it, as I continued to walk around I saw this top, immediately  I said “BOHO”.  Not my normal style of clothing but I liked it…  you know my motto!.  I had forgotten all about this wedge until this morning.  It’s all the shoe I needed for this outfit.  I accessorized with a simple necklace, earrings, bangles and watch.  Notice how I mixed a combination of gold and silver.  Its ok to mix metals!

HAPPY SUNDAY… Well, am I bright or what? You know I Love COLOR. I’ve been looking in my closet week after week at this skirt and top. I loved it on the hanger but wasn’t sure about it being on me LOL.

Its bright I know, but I do LOVE it… There is something to be said for a Crop Top and A-line Skirt, they go well together. Its very flirty  🙂 The raised flower petal detail is so strong I didn’t need to add many accessories. I kept the necklace simple and opted for a toned down shoe color.

Lets talk about my bag. I was so excited to carry it today and it was PERFECT with my outfit. It’s not vintage but instead a vintage replica, I will cherish it for years to come.

Style Tip: Don’t be afraid of color. Take your time in choosing the right color, mix and match contrasting colors they really make a statement.

Happy Sunday everyone! What a busy weekend and its finally coming to an end. No time to really plan an outfit for today. I guess I got lucky with this fit and flare skirt and tangerine high-low top. I purchased both of them a while ago [at separate times] not knowing how I would style either. I love the flow of this skirt, its giving me that Stepford Wives vibe. Instead of just letting the top swallow me up, I belted it (WITH A POP OF COLOR) for a more flattering appearance. It gives a totally different look than if I had left it loose.

My mint green bag is the statement piece to this outfit, it says SPRING (yasssss!) My shoes (BOGO) are loaded with bright colors and ties the entire outfit together. Lastly, PEARLS are always a good idea!  Don’t you just love COLOR?  I couldn’t have planned this if I tried.

Style Tip- You know you got it right when the complements flow.
