Sunday Look: Tulle Skirt

Happy Sunday!  How many of you think about shopping in the kids department?  One day I was browsing the kids department for a birthday gift.  Surprisingly I ran across a rack of tulle skirts.  You know I could not resist taking a closer look. This brings me to today outfit “tulle skirt”

Yes, that’s right I picked up this cream skirt with gold stars and dots in the kids department of Target!  They had other colors as well.  I only picked up the cream one.  Other colors were black, red and pink.  I don’t know why I didn’t get the red and black skirt.  Missed opportunity, LOL!

Once I purchased the skirt I had the dilemma of what top to pair with it.  Trust me, I tried many and I just wasn’t satisfied.  I did find this long sleeve top with gold threading around the neck that I hoped would work.  It took me a couple of tries. I decided to knot-it  and a pair was born 🙂 .  I could have tucked it, but the sheer fabric of the skirt allowed the top to show through and I didn’t want that type of look.  Actually, I’m a fan of knotted shirts.

Wearing all cream allows you to glow it up with GOLD accessories.  That’s exactly what I did with matching earrings and necklace in gold.  I also added a gold and cream bracelet, watch and finished up with cream suede pointy toe shoes!

Guess what? I had the perfect BAG too.  It’s very roomy and was the perfect accent to my outfit.
STYLE TIP: This skirt would be perfect for a wedding or bridal shower, you pick!

Sunday Look: Easter Sunday

Happy Resurrection Sunday!  Easter has always been on of the most memorable holidays from my childhood.  I can remember it so vividly, my sisters and I being dressed up in pastel colored dresses, hair pressed and curled, cute socks and patent leather shoes.  Off to church we went with Easter Baskets in hand.  Today was not any different, we attended church services together as a family (minus the Easter Baskets) and had a wonderful brunch afterward.

My Family

As an adult not much has changed when it comes to dressing on a day like today  🙂 .  I recycled something old and kept with my childhood tradition in this hot pink maxi.  One piece outfits are so easy, “one and done”…

This time around I changed the accessories and shoes. I accessorized my jewelry in pastel blue and silver tones.  I wore hot pink peep toe shoes matching the dress perfectly. I like how the hot pink and pastel blue pair so well together.

My BAG today happens to be one of my new favorite handbags.  This pastel blue flap bag with chain detail paired well with my other accessories.

Happy Easter!

Sunday Look: Off the Shoulder Maxi

Happy Palm Sunday!  Have you ever thought about what the most beautiful part of a woman’s body is?  I think it’s “Shoulders”.  There is something about the silhouette of our shoulders.  That’s why I’m so smitten with today’s look.  Believe it or not I don’t possess any off the shoulder clothing.  Just so happens, “Off the Shoulder” clothing is trending big -time right now!

I was hesitant to try it on when I found it, thinking I couldn’t pull it off.  But I fell in love with the way my shoulders looked and had to have it. (Being on the clearance rack helped that decision too!! LOL…)  Its pretty versatile, you can expose as little or as much shoulder as you like.  Most off the shoulder clothing come with removable straps (this one did).  I chose to remove the straps for my look.
This dress can be worn in so many different settings.  I wore strappy sandals with it to church, but you can easily wear flats of any kind.  I can see myself walking on the beach barefoot in this dress too 🙂 .

I kept my accessories simple.  I wore a very thin choker to not overpower the look. And I just happen to have the perfect pair of  earrings too.  Notice something different today?  Yes I’m wearing blue metal lip cream.  I’m certainly stepping outside my box, and I Love it!  It seems that a lot of others did as well.  I got tons of complements!  Of course I toned it down a bit for church 😉 .

My BAG: I chose this FUN colorful BOLD animal print bag.  I love to mix patterns and this one paired very well with the pattern of my dress.  You should never be afraid to mix patterns, anything goes especially if you like it!

Sunday Look: Stormy Sunday

Stormy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today started off very rocky.  As I was preparing for today all of a sudden out of nowhere  came severe thunderstorms, high winds and tornado warnings in the area. We were told to seek shelter immediately.  Really! Not when I’m trying to get dressed for church.  What do you wear when it pouring rain and high winds besides your rain boots?  I started in a flirty pleated dress and had to change at the last minute to something more “stormy weather” friendly.

I figured pants would be the best.  Didn’t need my dress flying up LOL.  I’ve had this summer sweater since last season and never got a chance to wear it until today.  It has all the colors of spring and summer.  It went well with my yellow pants. I was finally able to restyle these pants with something else.  I always like to add a belt, just because!

I also accessorized with a necklace in multiple strands of different metals. And a simple gold watch and cuff bracelet.  Of course my rain boots didn’t quite work for the finish look! I wore a pair of neutral patent leather platform pumps.  At least the rain would roll off instead of soaking in…

My BAG today was a gold tote with a chain link handle.  I don’t know what it is about rain that makes me want to carry a larger bag.  I think because you need a little extra room for that umbrella and other rainy DAY accessories.

Sunday Look: Super Sunday- Casual

Happy SUPER Sunday!… Today is what most of us have been waiting for even if our team isn’t playing.  That brings me to today’s outfit.  I’m SUPER casual and SUPER comfortable.  Not only was I able to wear this outfit to church but I can easily transition into today’s festivities.  All I have to do is put on a pair of flats 😉 and I’m on my way to being SUPER, SUPER comfortable.

This outfit was SUPER simple to put together.  Basically all I had to do was put on high heels and throw on a necklace.  It’s that simple!  Of course I took it a little further by adding an arm full of bangles, earrings and watch. TOUCHDOWN!!!!

My BAG today was SUPER cute and simple as well.  It’s just a beaded box and I love it!

Since it’s SUPER SUNDAY I thought I’d be playful with my touch down pillow!  Enjoy the game!

Happy Saturday… Its a beautiful Christmas Holiday Weekend.  I rarely post my Saturday outfits.  Feeling pretty good today about this PLAID DRESS look with colorful tights.  It’s kind of “cute”  🙂 so I thought I would share.  PLAID is something I don’t wear often, its a look that I love on other people.  I added a belt to cinch a waistline.   The flat boots makes it comfortable and casual.  I threw on the hat at the last minute and I liked it… 😉

Today I thought I would rock the Romper, I haven’t worn one in years.  If I can wear one… so can you.  I purchased this Romper from Old Navy a while back for just $12.99; it was hiding on the clearance rack.  I love putting black, white and red together. IMG_1921 YAY we had a dry Sunday after all…Today I decided to dress Springy  with a pop of COLOR and a little more casual than normal. I purchased these pants last Spring and had only worn them once. The Palazzo Pant, some people call them wide leg pants. I always thought I was too short to wear them. Honestly most of the time I have to have them altered to fit my 5ft. 4in. statute. But with my high heels I manage to rock them like the tall girls and you can too. I purchased the top at the same time. If I remember correctly this outfit was on the mannequin and I had to have it… My shoes are Gianni Bini and you already know I picked them up on sale per usual.   The purse was purchased from Sam Moon. Today was a BEAUTI,,, Today’s photo shoot was taken at the Amphitheater in downtown Round Rock. It was the perfect backdrop.     Photo Credit: Madalynn & Hayleigh Tanksley
