Sunday Look: Vintage Bloom

Happy Sunday!  OMG guys I had a pretty busy, FUN and awesome weekend.  I was so tired I had to take a nap which is why my post is so late today.  I wore 5 inch heels from six o’clock yesterday evening until 2:30 this morning.  We attended Flavors of Austin fund raiser for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  We had the opportunity to meet some great NFL Legends.  My husband was in his element.  You know we had to partake in the after party!  My feet were so swollen and hurting this morning I could not wear any of my shoes 🙁 . That meant I needed a miracle because I don’t own very many flats 🙁    It took a little while to find something but I prevailed, LOL!

Todays outfit had to serve twofold.  I was going for a vintage look where I could incorporate the sock bootie (because I needed something soft on my feet).  I had this pencil skirt with beautiful floral blooms and a sheer top that was full of blooms as well.  I fell in love with this top because of the gathered elastic sleeves. Even though both pieces had two different textures, they gave me the vintage feel I was hoping to pull off.

In addition to my sock peep toe booties, I accessorized with pearl jewelry keeping with that soft vintage look.

My BAG today was  large cream tote.  Sometimes you just need a big bag to hold all the extra essentials, which I needed to have with me today.

Sunday Look: Animal Print Jacket Dress

Happy Sunday!  We had a very rainy Sunday morning which makes for some good sleep LOL!  We’ve had lots of rain lately.  Had to pull out the rain boots.  What do you wear on a Sunday morning when you aren’t feeling rain boots?  That was my dilemma this morning.   Animal print is what you wear LOL… surprisingly I saw several outfits this morning in animal print.   If I had to pick a favorite animal print I would say Leopard Print is my favorite.  It’s the perfect bold and classy print for Fall and Winter.  I haven’t worn it this winter at all, not sure why because I love it.

Today’s outfit features the Leopard print jacket dress.  The layers of fabric makes for an even flow rounding out this high-low jacket dress.  I added a wide belt to cinch my waist for a more tailored look.  I also added a black legging.  It even has pockets 🙂 that’s always a nice addition to any outfit.

In addition to the wide belt I wanted to wear an earring that stood out as well.  I did that with a three tier bauble.  Even though I wore a long necklace it was almost lost on the animal print.   I needed something bolder to stand out (lesson learned).  I wore my all time favorite pointy toe high heel pumps.  If it had been really cold out, I would have opted for thigh-high boots 😉 !  In addition to the black accessories I could have easily paired red or brown.  Both of these colors look great with Leopard animal print.  I also could have worn the jacket dress open with a black shift cinched at the waist with a patent red leather belt.  Oh! the possibilities!

My BAG was a flat envelop clutch.  I had a vision of a long rectangular clutch but I settled for a square one instead.  Sometimes you just know.

Sunday Look: Heritage Sunday

Happy Sunday!  Once a year we carve out a day or month to celebrate our Heritage.  Today we celebrated “Heritage Sunday” in dress and food.  There is so much history to uncover regarding all the different cultures, dress, colors, symbols, etc.  There were so many beautiful outfits today from t-shirts to full on head dress.  The entire church was popping with color!

My wardrobe does not consist of African clothing.  That meant I had to purchase something. In all honesty, I really didn’t know what I wanted to wear.  Believe it or not, I felt a little bit out of my comfort zone. I’ve always LOVED the clothing (on others) but never saw myself wearing it.  I think the clothing is absolutely without a doubt BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE.   I was overwhelmed with all the choices. I figured it was best to start out with baby steps.  I did that with this colorful high-low skirt with sash.  I felt like I was getting a twofer.  The ever so popular high-low trend and a beautiful cultural print.  I couldn’t think of anything better to accompany the skirt besides my trusty blue shell top.  Remember I said baby steps.  I think it paired pretty well.

I didn’t want to go overboard with the accessories either.  The skirt is bold enough to stand on its own.  But, I’m never without earrings 🙂 and hardly go without a bracelet or two.   I combined two necklaces for the look of one.  And a single bangle on each arm.  I’ve had this pair of blue suede shoes (no pun intended). They paired very well with the blue in my skirt.

My BAG is a play on texture.  The print is completely opposite of my skirt but the color connects them both, therefore it works!

Sunday Look: Symbolic Peek of Red

Happy Sunday! This weekend has been very emotional for me.  Happy emotions!  Our 11-year old grand daughter competed in the first ever National level of “The Amazing Shake”  We are so proud of her for making it to Atlanta to compete this weekend at Ron Clark Academy.  She didn’t win but she did very well making top 2 of the wild card, making her a WINNER in our eyes.  This was her first competition as a fifth grader. Talk about a great  accomplishment!  We are over the moon proud of her and hope she can go even further in next years competition.  For those that want to know more, simply Google”The Amazing Shake”.
Our granddaughter.

Not only is it  Valentines Day Week but February is the month of Red. It’s a symbol of “Women Heart Health Awareness” were we have a day to Go RED for Women.  I went RED for women in honor of my mother and daughter.  It’s also the symbol of support for children born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD).  The color RED is symbolic for great causes. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/

Today I didn’t go the full on red route, I went for a peek of red instead.  I’m wearing a faux leather ankle pant with a red silk tank top.  I added a Channel inspired black jacket over the tank (it was cold today).   I buttoned the bottom two buttons for a more fitted look.

I toyed with two options, shoes or boots.  Both worked, but I needed just a little more red.  I decided on red shoes and my coat has a combination of red and black.  I wore a matching necklace and earrings.  Silver bangles on one arm and red and silver on the other.

I needed a little sparkle and I got that with my red sequence handbag.

Sunday Look: Super Sunday Casual

See the source image
Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  Everyone is buzzing about the Super Bowl.  For me its just another Sunday, but for my family it’s a different story, even thought our team isn’t playing.

I knew I would have a lot to do after church today for the Super Bowl so I purposely dressed Super Casual 😉 .  As I was looking through my closet yesterday I ran across this black and white jacket.  I instantly had my outfit for today.  I pulled out black parachute pants with elastic at the ankles and a black tee shirt.  Talk about easy!  I should have more Sunday’s like this LOL.

Accessories are fairly simple today as well.  I chose black and white bauble earrings and a multi-strand necklace with black and white stones.  Threw on a black and white stone bracelet and jewelry accessories were done.  I wore pointy toe black pumps with pompoms of course 🙂 .  I’m so in love with pompoms as you know.

My bag today had to be Super Casual and FUN.  A black cross body with the letters “SOLD OUT” spelled out kept it super casual with a funky twist!

Enjoy your SUPER SUNDAY! See the source image

Sunday Look: Military Blue

Greeting to another Sunday.  As the season changes (especially in Texas) how does one dress for a cool start and somewhat of a warm finish.  Layers. Dressing in layers can help with the quickly changing temperatures.

Today’s outfit is a take on the layered effect.  The “military” inspired design with a feminine turn in a long tailored jacket, adorned with polished goldtone buttons.  Under the jacket is a sleeveless shell.  This allows me to remove my jacket if needed.  I paired the two with a crop straight legged pant.  All in the color “BLUE“.   I love this look, it’s very comfortable and stylish at the same time.  You may be thinking why all blue?  First of all, I love the functionality (military look) of it all.   If I were to remove the jacket I would still have a cohesive look.

My jewelry accessories played off the shape and goldtone buttons.  I purposely wore gold earrings, necklace and bracelet.  It really set off the look.   I kept with the blue in my shoes as well.   The patent leather blue gave that shine you see on military personnel for a totally finished look.

My BAG, a square, blue leather handbag trimmed in gold.  The square shape of the handbag made the entire outfit look official 😉 .

Fashion should be FUN. Have fun in your look , OWN IT !

Sunday Look: Bodycon, Bodycon

Greetings to another week.  For starters, we’ve had a roller-coaster of seasons this past week.  Today it was Spring 🙂 .  It’s really hard to plan an outfit ahead of time, but I adapt, LOL!  Nothing like Texas weather.

Wait a minute…  What in the world am I doing in a “bodycon” dress.  When I first saw this dress I didn’t realize it was labeled as a “bodycon” .  I could not see myself in such a dress, which is probably the mindset of many women.  Well… there is a first time for everything.  I was all 🙂 smiles 🙂 in the dressing room, it fit, OMG, it fit and looked good on me! This particular dress is a mesh bodycon with a lining.  Mesh is turning out to be my best friend.  I’m very pleased with the fit and happy that I was able to pull this one off.  I had no trouble sitting down either!

The black and floral print surely makes a statement all by itself.  I could have opted to go accessory free, but who does that?  I could have easily chosen pearls to wear with this print and it would have worked.  Instead I chose an earring with colorful stones along with a necklace of like colors.

I must admit, I tried on three different pairs of shoes and could not make a decision.  I let my husband choose for me.  Sometimes another pair of eyes helps.

My BAG was an easy choice.  A suede envelop clutch with triangle patchwork in four different colors.  Best feature, the Pompom 🙂 .  I have no idea where I purchased this bag from.

Don’t limit your clothing style.  Try on that dress, don’t just look at it.  You may be surprised!

Sunday Look: Draped Neck Cardigan & Faux Leather Skirt

Happy Sunday!  I’m enjoying the cooler weather we are having.  I mention that because last year we really didn’t have many cold days.  I have all of these really cool winter clothing that I haven’t been able to wear in almost two years.  Well today that all changed.

I’ve been hoarding this draped neck cardigan for two years I know.  It’s quite warm and I wasn’t able to wear it before.  I was so excited to do so today.  This cardigan is knit with a half faux leather and knit long sleeve in a dark green.  I had every intention of pairing it with the exact skirt you see here.  I’ve been hoarding this skirt also.  This midi skirt in a green faux leather with front split and front pockets!  The two pieces complement each other well. (I won’t be linking these two since they are two years old and sold out).

If ever an outfit called to be accessorized with boots, it’s this one.  Black leather boots worked well to complete this look.  You know, there is something about a skirt with a front split and boots! 😉 .  I kept the other accessories to earrings and a long necklace only.

My BAG today was a round handbag with fringe and small gold studs.  I thought it worked well with the boots in particular.

Faux Leather Fact: Faux leather is usually made from “Polyurethane” a non-animal product.  It’s actually a form of plastic.  Unlike leather, it can be washed and comes in many different colors. Lastly it’s cheaper than leather (rightfully so) but you can get the same great look for a lower price.

Sunday Look: Rose Colored Pompom Shoes

Happy New Year and Happy First Sunday.  If you are reading this we made it to 2018!  What a blessing.  This is a special week, tomorrow is my birthday.  Today we celebrated my birthday, my nieces and nephew with our extended family.  I’m pretty sure there will be celebrations all week long 😉 …  Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I knew I wanted to start out my birthday week in my “Christmas Shoes”.  You have no idea how much I wanted these shoes and my Santa (husband) came through (love him).
Today was all about the shoes. A soft velvet pointed pump with 4 inch heel, faux fur pompoms in a rose color!  I’m loving anything pompom these days  .  Haroldson Velvet Pompom Pump, Faded Rose
I pictured many options in my head as to how I  would style them.  I chose this sheer floral embroidered top with crew neck, puff sleeves and cami underlay.

I paired it with a vegan leather pencil skirt.   Some other options I threw around was a tulle skirt (my first choice) and ball skirt with this top.  The possibilities are vast.  I’m going to do that tulle shirt, maybe for Valentines Day.

The other accessories were kept at a minimum.  This is the first time in a long time that I didn’t wear a necklace. Nothing was going to out shine my shoes 🙂 .  Earrings and bangles, two on each arm was it.  You all know how I feel about bangles, Love, Love!

My BAG today was a faux leather folded clutch in a hint of rose.  I’m always amazed at how my bags just flow with my outfits.  I’m always pleased with the end result.

Sunday Look: Year End Glitter & New Year’s Eve Glamour

See the source image

Happy New Year’s Eve!  2017 is almost out of here…  What a year!  We are so blessed to see another year, for that I am thankful.
This is the last blog post of 2017,  I spent last night thinking how I would end this last Sunday of the year.  I put a lot of thought into each outfit I wear, whether it’s dressing for a specific holiday or season.  It’s all planned out each week, well most weeks 😉 .  I enjoy bringing you my looks each week and I hope you enjoy them too.
None of this would be possible without the support of my husband.  He takes all my photos without a single complaint.  I’m so fortunate to have him support my hobby 🙂 .

                                                           The Man behind the camera!

I felt the need to end the year in a little glitz.  Today’s outfit features a little glitter by way of this one-button glitter dot boyfriend blazer. The sleek look of the blazer paired with a straight leg crop pant makes for a polished look.  The one -button blazer meant I had to add a top.  I added a simple shell in the same color keeping the look sleek.

This outfit was very easy to accessorize.  The gold glitter certainly called for a chunky gold chain.  I added gold dangling earrings to the mix and finished the look with a watch, gold bangles and a gold pointy toe shoe.
BABY it was COLD outside today.  I wore a neon yellow/green wool coat and black gloves.

My BAG today was an oldie, a simple rectangular clutch in gold added the old school glamour making this look classic.

Tonight as we count down to 2018, my husband and I will ring it in with a party for two.  We rarely go out for New Years Eve.  Staying home provides a safe and comfortable environment for us.  Now don’t get me wrong, we dress up for our party of two.  Tonight I’m wearing a long cream colored gown with a sequence bodice and long taffeta skirt. We will be sipping champagne till 2018.  However you choose to celebrate, please be safe and please, please don’t drink and drive.  See  you back here in 2018. While you’re at it, give me a like on this post 🙂 .
