Sunday Look: Roses are Blue…Baby Doll Dress

Happy Sunday!  What a difference it makes when you can get a full day of rest.  Yesterday I did absolutely nothing (except decorate my dining room table for Thanksgiving). Other than that we had a free weekend, the grand girls were sports free.  I should be well rested.  Late last night I decided to try on outfits for today.  Well, this morning I changed my mind 🙂 .  Luckily for me all I did was grab and go!  Which leads me to today’s outfit.

Roses are Blue is what I’m calling this dress.  I have to admit I fell in Love with this dress right away.  Wait until you see where I purchased it from down below.  All I have to say is “you make the clothes, the clothes don’t make you”.
The look of vintage in the mesh (I told you its trending)™. This mesh dress makes for a sultry look, while the embroidered flowers add sweet, feminine detail. The thin, mesh material and delicate flowers come together for a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted look.  This dress turned heads LOL… It would be perfect for your next dinner party or night out.

I kept the accessories really simple. Notice, no necklace, really didn’t need one at all. Just the right amount of skin peeks through the mesh.  Black earrings, sparkly bracelet and ring did the rest.  The dress can easily stand for itself.  I chose an ombre patent leather shoe in blue and black.  I heard someone say the other day that ombre is out ( I think they were talking about hair though).  Anyway, I beg to differ.  I like it and I wore it 😉 .

My BAG today was fairly simple.  I chose a long blue clutch that felt so right for this outfit.  I did try three others but this one was perfect.

Like I said before, you make the clothes the clothes don’t make you!  I wear what I like and you should too!  Don’t get me wrong, I love a designer piece. But everything doesn’t have to be $$$ for you to look good or feel good.

Sunday Look: Fall Colors

Happy Sunday!  I really needed that extra hour of sleep this morning.  Well… you already know what I’m going to say LOL, yep its Texas warm and that’s all I’m going to say. It’s so hard to dress for Fall around here. You find yourself dressing in-between Summer and Fall.  Being that its Fall, I would prefer to dress in Fall clothing! I’m trying to keep it in-between or at lease dress in the season colors.

Today’s outfit falls somewhere in-between.  I chose a burgundy color pallet in gauchos and bodysuit.  I didn’t actually plan on wearing these two pieces together, so glad I did.  As  you know bodysuits are everywhere this season.  What I like most about them is the ease of not having to tuck.  I fell in LOVE with this particular sheer mesh bodysuit. The surplice neckline (which I love) and the allover floral print caught my eye.  Mesh is another trend, I think I mentioned it last week as well.  When it comes to gauchos or even culottes, I don’t think they will ever go out of style, especially in the Fall/Winter months (usually when I wear them).  It’s so easy to pair them with boots ( I love that look) which is what I would prefer to wear but Texas weather won’t allow it.  Let me rephrase that, “Texas weather won’t allow ME”.

It was another easy outfit to accessorize.  I kept it fairly simple wearing a choker with a pearl drop, a single gold bangle and somewhat whimsical earring that paired well with the floral detail in the bodysuit. My shoes, a nude patent leather (pointy toe) pump.

My BAG today was a small tan flap bag with a woven front. Perfect size!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and remember its going to get dark earlier 🙁 .

Sunday Look: Choker Neckline Dress & Sheer Cardigan

Happy Sunday!  I’m going to start out by saying I’ve had the “COOLEST” weekend 🙂 .  Yep I enjoyed our cooler temperatures this weekend.  I spent a great deal of time outside this weekend.  It was so nice to put on boots and a turtleneck.  It’s the little things!  LOL.   I know it was short lived but I enjoyed it none the less.  This morning started out pleasant (at least it wasn’t hot) 🙂 .  Which prompted me to today’s outfit.
I chose a short shift dress in a large peony floral print, with a choker neckline and cutout front.   I wore a long sheer cardigan over the dress since it was sleeveless.  Doing so made it a little more dressy and seasonal.  If you haven’t noticed “sheer” dresses, tops and cardigans are trending BIG TIME right now.  This particular cardigan can be worn with jeans, slacks, maxi dress or a jumpsuit.  The possibilities are endless.

Accessorizing was so easy.  The choker neckline meant I didn’t need a necklace.  All I had to do was put on a pair of earrings.  I chose a single cream and black bangle just for kicks.  Black patent leather platform pumps added the finishing touch.

My bag today was a black rippled patent leather tote with a black and gold chain strap.  I’ve said this before, you just know when the bag is right for the outfit.

I’m so happy the season is changing so we can change up our wardrobe. I’m looking forward to wearing my boots (again) and dabbing into the velvet trend.  Stay tuned!

Sunday Look: Floral Print Ruffle Dress

Happy Sunday!  Blessings for another week.  I have to say this past week was rather uneventful.  Although we had the usual Saturday of grand girls sporting events.  It’s still pretty warm and I’m so ready for some cooler weather.  I sound like a broken record I know, I know 🙂 …

I’m also not ready for all those dark muted colors either.  I’d like to think I’m a colorful kind of girl.  I never use to be a fan of floral print.  I purchased a floral dress a couple of years back.  I looked at that dress for a long time.  I liked it, then I didn’t.  I thought it was ugly actually.  But I couldn’t leave it in the store.  When I finally wore it I was in love and have been every since.  Most probably think floral prints are for Spring and Summer months only.  There are some beautiful floral prints of reds, gold, orange and greens that flow well into the Fall and Winter seasons.  I’m already thinking about what I’ll wear in December.  I can’t wait!
Today’s outfit is floral of course LOL.  I was drawn to this dress immediately, I’m not sure if it was the print or all the ruffles.  This dress has an allover floral print, a V-neckline, a waist sash-belt, long sleeves with split ruffle cuffs, and a ruffle hem. Can you get any more girly?  I felt like my youngest grand daughter wanting to twirl.

Last night when figuring out how to style this dress I went through several necklaces.  Whichever necklace I chose would dictate the earrings.  You know pearls were my first choice.  I ultimately decided on this gold multi-tasseled necklace and large loop earrings.   I know pearls go with everything but there was something about this necklace that fit perfectly in the V-neckline, (this necklace was a birthday gift).  I chose to wear a nude patent leather platform heel.  Every nude shoe I tried on worked.  It was all about the color “nude” that paired well with all the colors.

My BAG today was BIG! Sometimes you just now what goes well and what doesn’t.  This “doctor bag” looking handbag with a diamond stitched pattern was a very good choice I think.

Sunday Look: Fern Print Shirt Dress

Happy Sunday!  Another great week for the memory books.  This weekend like most, we were busy with the grand girls sporting events.  We spent our entire Saturday outside.  Oh the excitement!
I was exhausted when we got home last night.  There was no time nor energy to plan for today’s outfit.  This morning I literarily reached my hand inside one of my closets and pulled out the first dress that caught my eye.  I tried it on, it fit and the rest is what you see LOL.  Believe me this is highly unusual for me.  I usually try on three or four different outfits.  I think I’m overthinking it.  Today was so easy, reach, pull, wear 🙂 .  I purchased this dress maybe two seasons ago not quite sure.  I’m not a big fan of long sleeves.  I have to wear them at some point, today seemed like a good day to do so.

This dress may look like its accented in black but its “gray”.  I figured since its Fall (or suppose to be) I could wear it not only for the color but for the long sleeves.  I love the bold fern leaf print.  Its sort of a shirt dress kicked up a notch.  With a print this bold I didn’t need heavy accessories.  Even though I chose a large pendant necklace, the colored stones are somewhat muted and doesn’t take over the print.  I kept the earrings simple as well.  When it came to shoes I thought I would mix the patterns.  I chose snakeskin platform round toe pumps in the same color pallet.

My bag today was a simple woven clutch.  No frills!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and we’ll see what comes next week!

Sunday Look: Autumn Escape

Happy Sunday!  What a weekend I’ve had.  Let me tell you a little bit about me and my life in case you didn’t know.  For starters I’m a professional woman.  I’m a REALTOR®, wife, mother and grandmother.  This weekend like most was full of grandkids sporting events.  Now add car repairs into the mix.  I got my hands dirty assisting my husband  in changing the sparkplugs out on my car and replacing headlights, park lights and taillight bulbs (my hands are smaller than his, he needed me).   Yep you read correctly!  One thing about me, I’m not afraid to get my hands a little dirty. All while in full make-up and lipstick! 😉   There is more to me than what you see weekly).  I can do a few other things as well 😉 .  Now you know a little bit more about me.
Needless to say I was worn out.  There was no time to plan for todays outfit.   This dress, autumn escape is the perfect name for this color because I’m certainly trying to escape to Autumn somewhere.  Oddly, I have another dress that’s very similar to this one.  I purchased this one about two years ago, I was SO surprised it fit, seriously!

Nothing is more girly than lace. The lace detail on this dress is so pretty with a scalloped hemline and scalloped neckline with three quarter length sleeves.  I kept the accessories girly with pearls.  Pearls are the most versatile piece of jewelry you can own (besides diamonds).  You can wear them with ANYTHING…  I chose to wear a nude T-strap patent leather high heel pumps.
My BAG today, a neutral colored bag with a 3D bow detail.  Accessories done!

Sunday Look: Fall Debut

Happy Sunday and welcome to FALL!  Yay!… Fall is finally here, BUT it won’t feel like it for a while I’m sure 🙁 .  As you can tell I’m always commenting on the seasons, I can’t wait for some COOLER  weather! LOL.

What does one wear to start off the first Sunday of Fall?  I have to admit I struggled this morning.  After my third attempt I ended up in these very wide leg pants and cream top.  Easy right?

To accessorize my two piece ensemble, first thing I did was add a skinny belt to give me a waist.  Next, I’ve been itching to wear one of my favorite necklaces again, this beautiful long stranded pearl necklace.  I’m so in LOVE  with this necklace. It put the statement in “statement necklace “.  I wore pearl/silver earring that paired well with my necklace.  I slipped on an open toe high heel sandal.  My toes peeped-out just a little 🙂 .

Today’s BAG was whimsical.  When I first spotted this domino inspired clutch I was like “OH! ” that’s different and I like different… 😉 .  I thought it added a little bit of fun to the entire outfit.

What did you wear on the first day of Fall?

Sunday Look: Head to Toe Neutrals

Happy Sunday!  Another beautiful week in the books.  Each morning I can tell the season is trying to change.  It’s always a long transition from Summer to Fall around here though.   With that change, I’m still sleeveless LOL!
Today’s outfit is a throwback of sorts to 2014, which was the last time I wore this dress (so happy it still fit).  I was attracted to the deep “V” sweetheart neckline and lace trim.  I also liked how the entire dress is layered in neutrals.  I kept everything neutral (on purpose). Why?  I just love the pristine look.

I accessorized in neutrals as well.  I started with a long pair of round pearl earrings and necklace.  I also wore a nude platform round toe shoe to finish off the look.

My BAG today a classic; monogram handbag in the same neutral colors.

It was so easy to style this dress, keeping everything neutral made it all flow effortlessly!  Another successful recycle from my closet 😉 .

Sunday Look: Leaf Print Halter Dress

Happy Sunday! What a week with all the hurricanes that are spreading across the United States.  We are still praying for all those affected by Harvey and now Irma.   I have family in Florida and we surely pray that they walk away unharmed. Image result for Black Praying Hands

It’s amazing how you can purchase an article of clothing as far back as a year ago and its still fashionable today.  Case and point, my leaf print halter dress.  My main reason for not wearing it sooner was the halter back.  I knew I couldn’t wear my back out to church.  Up until now I was searching for the right piece to remedy that problem.  I did that with a navy blue button down shirt (not pictured).  I rolled up the sleeves and tied it at the waist.  Just like that it was appropriate for church.  It was HOT today so I removed it right after church and wore it in its natural beauty 🙂 .

I could have belted the dress at the waist too.  Don’t you think this is the perfect dress for just about any occasion?  It’s lightweight and cool. But the best feature of all, it has POCKETS!

I chose not to weigh down the dress with navy accessories.  I accessorized with a pop of color in my earrings, necklace, bracelets and shoes.  This really highlighted the dress.

I was excited to carry my Bamboo Ark handbag again.  Love this handbag and look for any opportunity to carry it!

Can you see yourself hanging out at the pool party in this dress? It’s the perfect poolside dress.

Sunday Look: Bye- Bye Summer Black & White

Happy Sunday!    As most of you know Texas was hit with a nasty hurricane last week.  I opted not to blog last week, it was my way of showing respect to all those affected.   It’s good to be back in front of the camera!
Some outfits deserve new life. I wore this dress back in 2015.  I styled it with blue accessories. ↓ (see blow)

I purchased a pair of white pumps last season and never got to wear them. I’ve wanted to wear them all summer long.  Since we are one day away from Labor Day I thought I better.  You know what they say “no white after Labor Day”.  As for me personally, I won’t wear white shoes after Labor Day (unless its tennis shoes) 😉 .  But I will wear white clothing because we live in Texas and our summers flow into Fall.  I’m looking forward to some much cooler weather though.

This time around I accessorized with all white accessories.  I chose a chunky necklace, white pearl earrings, my long awaited white shoes and a white handbag.  The white paired well with the black and white pattern on the dress.

There is BEAUTI  in everything, find it…
Please continue to pray for all the Texas folks affected by the hurricane.
