Sunday Look: Blooming Top

Happy Sunday!  No matter how much you try to plan your outfits something always happens to nick that idea.  Lucky for me I have a variety in my closet, sometimes I just have to pick something last minute and hope it works.  Actually, I think its easier because I don’t have to put a lot of time and thought into it.  That’s exactly what happened today!

This floral top has been speaking to me Sunday after Sunday.  I always pass it up. (Why do we save certain things for later?) It turned out to be a great last minute choice.  I decided to wear a long black pencil skirt with the top.  I could have easily paired it with skinny leg slacks, wide leg pants or culottes.  Next time.

When wearing a colorful top as this, your accessories can be kept to a minimum.  Every girl loves earrings and should never go without.  I could have stopped there.  But I decided to add a multi-stand necklace in gold, silver and black.  If you are the type that hardly ever wears a watch, opt for identical bracelets one on each wrist.  Honestly, I don’t practice my own advice, but today I did.  I actually like the identical bracelet idea.  I was like hmmm! why didn’t I do this sooner?

When the time came to choose shoes my first thought was black, boring. I went BOLD as you can see.  Perfect choice right?

My BAG choice today was my “BUG BAG” whatever works!

Sunday Look: Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day!  My children are the greatest gift God could have given me.  How lucky am I to be their MOTHER.  The only sad thing about today, my mother is gone but her presence lives on in my  …

Today’s outfit was something I saved just for today.  When I first saw it I thought, this is different.  This unique white sheath dress with attached floral, split maxi wrap left me feeling very girly!  I love how it blows in the wind.

I wanted to bring out the pink accents in the wrap.  I did that by simply adding pink earrings, necklace and peep toe shoes with pink highlights.

My BAG today was unique as well.  A box purse mimicking a perfume bottle added the final touch.

Sunday Look: Burst of Blue

Greeting on this beautiful Sunday.  We’ve had an action packed weekend.
I thought I would brighten up my Sunday in this blue soft chiffon sleeveless cowl neck shift dress. Shift dresses are always fun because they flow, especially on a breezy day (like today).
I try to find clothes that keep me cool especially in the warmer months.  I’ve become a fan of sleeveless clothing over the past couple of years.  Noticeably, my arms, sometimes look like I pump iron on a daily basis (I don’t) they are very defined.  You know what?  I had to accept my arms and now I embrace them.

When wearing a dress with a cowl neck you really could go without a necklace. If you do, choose one that’s long.  Otherwise all you need are the basics. When it comes to the shoes I want them to stand out!  I love how these multi-colored pointy toe pumps give off that Spring vibe.

Of course I had to choose a BAG that popped.  Why not go yellow?  My bag also highlighted the yellow in the my shoes.

Sunday Look: Off the Shoulder Maxi

Happy Palm Sunday!  Have you ever thought about what the most beautiful part of a woman’s body is?  I think it’s “Shoulders”.  There is something about the silhouette of our shoulders.  That’s why I’m so smitten with today’s look.  Believe it or not I don’t possess any off the shoulder clothing.  Just so happens, “Off the Shoulder” clothing is trending big -time right now!

I was hesitant to try it on when I found it, thinking I couldn’t pull it off.  But I fell in love with the way my shoulders looked and had to have it. (Being on the clearance rack helped that decision too!! LOL…)  Its pretty versatile, you can expose as little or as much shoulder as you like.  Most off the shoulder clothing come with removable straps (this one did).  I chose to remove the straps for my look.
This dress can be worn in so many different settings.  I wore strappy sandals with it to church, but you can easily wear flats of any kind.  I can see myself walking on the beach barefoot in this dress too 🙂 .

I kept my accessories simple.  I wore a very thin choker to not overpower the look. And I just happen to have the perfect pair of  earrings too.  Notice something different today?  Yes I’m wearing blue metal lip cream.  I’m certainly stepping outside my box, and I Love it!  It seems that a lot of others did as well.  I got tons of complements!  Of course I toned it down a bit for church 😉 .

My BAG: I chose this FUN colorful BOLD animal print bag.  I love to mix patterns and this one paired very well with the pattern of my dress.  You should never be afraid to mix patterns, anything goes especially if you like it!

Sunday Look: Stormy Sunday

Stormy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today started off very rocky.  As I was preparing for today all of a sudden out of nowhere  came severe thunderstorms, high winds and tornado warnings in the area. We were told to seek shelter immediately.  Really! Not when I’m trying to get dressed for church.  What do you wear when it pouring rain and high winds besides your rain boots?  I started in a flirty pleated dress and had to change at the last minute to something more “stormy weather” friendly.

I figured pants would be the best.  Didn’t need my dress flying up LOL.  I’ve had this summer sweater since last season and never got a chance to wear it until today.  It has all the colors of spring and summer.  It went well with my yellow pants. I was finally able to restyle these pants with something else.  I always like to add a belt, just because!

I also accessorized with a necklace in multiple strands of different metals. And a simple gold watch and cuff bracelet.  Of course my rain boots didn’t quite work for the finish look! I wore a pair of neutral patent leather platform pumps.  At least the rain would roll off instead of soaking in…

My BAG today was a gold tote with a chain link handle.  I don’t know what it is about rain that makes me want to carry a larger bag.  I think because you need a little extra room for that umbrella and other rainy DAY accessories.
