Sunday Look: Off the Shoulder Maxi

Happy Palm Sunday!  Have you ever thought about what the most beautiful part of a woman’s body is?  I think it’s “Shoulders”.  There is something about the silhouette of our shoulders.  That’s why I’m so smitten with today’s look.  Believe it or not I don’t possess any off the shoulder clothing.  Just so happens, “Off the Shoulder” clothing is trending big -time right now!

I was hesitant to try it on when I found it, thinking I couldn’t pull it off.  But I fell in love with the way my shoulders looked and had to have it. (Being on the clearance rack helped that decision too!! LOL…)  Its pretty versatile, you can expose as little or as much shoulder as you like.  Most off the shoulder clothing come with removable straps (this one did).  I chose to remove the straps for my look.
This dress can be worn in so many different settings.  I wore strappy sandals with it to church, but you can easily wear flats of any kind.  I can see myself walking on the beach barefoot in this dress too 🙂 .

I kept my accessories simple.  I wore a very thin choker to not overpower the look. And I just happen to have the perfect pair of  earrings too.  Notice something different today?  Yes I’m wearing blue metal lip cream.  I’m certainly stepping outside my box, and I Love it!  It seems that a lot of others did as well.  I got tons of complements!  Of course I toned it down a bit for church 😉 .

My BAG: I chose this FUN colorful BOLD animal print bag.  I love to mix patterns and this one paired very well with the pattern of my dress.  You should never be afraid to mix patterns, anything goes especially if you like it!

Sunday Look: Stormy Sunday

Stormy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today started off very rocky.  As I was preparing for today all of a sudden out of nowhere  came severe thunderstorms, high winds and tornado warnings in the area. We were told to seek shelter immediately.  Really! Not when I’m trying to get dressed for church.  What do you wear when it pouring rain and high winds besides your rain boots?  I started in a flirty pleated dress and had to change at the last minute to something more “stormy weather” friendly.

I figured pants would be the best.  Didn’t need my dress flying up LOL.  I’ve had this summer sweater since last season and never got a chance to wear it until today.  It has all the colors of spring and summer.  It went well with my yellow pants. I was finally able to restyle these pants with something else.  I always like to add a belt, just because!

I also accessorized with a necklace in multiple strands of different metals. And a simple gold watch and cuff bracelet.  Of course my rain boots didn’t quite work for the finish look! I wore a pair of neutral patent leather platform pumps.  At least the rain would roll off instead of soaking in…

My BAG today was a gold tote with a chain link handle.  I don’t know what it is about rain that makes me want to carry a larger bag.  I think because you need a little extra room for that umbrella and other rainy DAY accessories.

Sunday Look: Pastel Pants

Hello, I’m back.  Last week we had a family emergency and spent our Sunday at the hospital with my husband’s mother.  Thankfully she is on the mend.
It’s been a crazy busy week and I needed total comfort in today’s outfit.  Since Spring has sprung I thought I would start out wearing pastels.  I did so in these relaxed floral pants dancing in pastel petals.  I added a light colored pastel blue peplum top.  The top is adorned with a full back zipper.

I accessorized with an ombre blue and black pointy pump and a necklace in the same colors.
My BAG: This is one of the bags I told you about a while back. I mentioned that I was lucky enough to have it in four different colors.  It’s a quilted shoulder bag with partial chain link strap.  I shorten the strap to carry as a handbag instead.

Sunday Look: Maxi Dress and Cape Jacket

Happy Sunday! Well it looks like Mother Nature threw us a curve ball and gave us some cooler weather.  That gave me an opportunity to wear something I may have not worn had it been warmer.

Today’s outfit is a Maxi Dress and Cape Jacket.  The dress has a faux leather top with an attached sheer skirt and built-in underskirt.  It’s also sleeveless, that’s why I added the cape jacket. Guess what? the cape jacket has “POCKETS”!  I could have worn a blazer or cardigan as well.

Like last week, my necklace is the real showstopper to the entire outfit.  I had a blank canvas in the faux leather top.  Just about any necklace would have worked.  But this particular one not only sparkled, but it filled in the space nicely.  Next, I added a wide belt, it was a nice contrast between the faux leather top and sheer skirt.   Additional accessories included two silver bangles, ring, watch and earrings with a little bling as well.  Since it was a little cooler I slipped on fishnet hose and patent leather platform (pointy toe) heels.

My Bag:  I had to keep the bling going…  I did that with a semi round clutch with tons of bling!  Who doesn’t like a little bling or in my case lots of bling?

Thanks Mother Nature for the cooler weather!

Sunday Look: Ankle Pant & Blazer

Happy Sunday!  It’s hard to believe we’re in the month of March already.  We didn’t have much of a Winter now its almost Spring.  It’s still Winter and I’m going to dress like it until March 20th (first day of Spring) 🙂  Today’s outfit, signature ankle pant, velvet bodysuit and blazer is as close as I get to Winter clothing.  First of all I think the ankle pant is sexy! Add a bodysuit to that and you’ve got a style party.  Not just any bodysuit but one with a sheer V- neckline and back. The blazer took the outfit to a whole other level.  It all came together quite nicely.

But!!! the real show stopper today is my “necklace”.  I was so excited when I found it and equally excited to finally wear it!.  It was the perfect compliment to the sheer V-neck of the bodysuit.   I also added a two identical bold bracelets (one on each arm) for a more stylish look.  Pointed toe leather and suede heels topped it all off.

My Bag:  In keeping with the velvet trend, I carried this black with gold trim flap bag.  Its a shoulder bag with a velvet and chain strap.  I also have this bag in Bordeaux or burgundy.

Here’s is a tip: Whenever I don’t want to wear the strap long on the shoulder, I shorten the strap on my bags by tying the chain with a ribbon inside.  Talk about versatility… 😉

Sunday Look: Full Skirt & Bell Sleeve Blouse

It’s Oscar Sunday!  The Diva in me wanted to wear a long gown to church today, LOL…  Just kidding! Not really.  Can you tell I’m looking forward to the Red Carpet Fashions.   Today I fashioned a recycled skirt from two years ago.  The A-Line Full Skirt will never go out of fashion. There are many different ways to wear this skirt.  Best of all it has pockets!  Last time I wore this skirt I styled it with a black long sleeve cotton tee with pearls and ankle boots.  I switched it up this go around.  I paired it with an off-white blouse featuring the trending bell sleeve, V-neck, button loop detail and a tie.

Accessories really weren’t necessary, my blouse is so detailed as I mentioned with the button loops and tie.  The long bell sleeves served as my accessory.

My BAG: Listen, I fell in love with this style bag when I first saw it in white.  I was so drawn to it that I wanted every color  in stock.  I now have four different colors.  Oops! I think I just told on myself.  My husband reads my Blog and this will probably raise his eyebrows 😉 .  I’m pretty sure I’m not alone, how many of you have purchased the same item in different colors?

Style Tip:  Don’t be afraid to recycle the same item of clothing.  You can re-style one piece many different ways!

I can’t wait to hear these words tonight on the Red Carpet “Who are you wearing”

Sunday Look: Sunday Best – Double Bell Sleeves

Happy Sunday!  Today was a pretty special day (despite the fact that I was fighting allergies).  Our church celebrated Heritage Sunday, we heard a message from Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II.  I was also fortunate enough to get a picture with him as well.  Heritage Sunday called for you to wear your Sunday Best or  Heritage Attire.  I  chose to dress in my “Sunday Best”.

Have you ever purchased an item and asked this question, “when and where will I wear it?   I do that a lot. Well, today that question was answered for me.  This straight black dress is turned into a showstopper by the double bell sleeves.  Without the sleeves it would be just another black dress.  Its all about the details that make fashion, FASHION…

This dress is fabulous without accessories, but when I added the long knotted black and white peal necklace it became HIGH FASHION 😉 .  It’s amazing how one piece of jewelry can change the entire look of an outfit.  I downplayed my earrings in order to keep the necklace the main attraction.  The double bell sleeves and necklace work well together.

When it came to deciding which shoe to pair with this dress I was perplexed.  I must have tried on about six different pair of black shoes.  I narrowed it down to two pair, but the open toe sling backs won over the pointy toe pumps, can you believe it?

My BAG: I chose a bag that was fairly simple, black satin square clutch with a woven detail on the front flap.  I didn’t want my bag to take over!

I can’t get enough of today’s outfit!  The necklace is EVERYTHING!

Sunday Look: Sweetheart Sunday in Red & Pink

Image result for valentine images

It’s Sweet Sunday!  I always refer to the Sunday before Valentines Day as “Sweetheart Sunday”.

I was really excited about today.  It’s almost Valentines Day and I get to wear my favorite color “RED“.  I enjoyed wearing all that RED the entire month of December.  That brings me to today’s outfit choice. I knew I was going to wear some type of RED.  This skirt is one of three that I purchased quite some time ago.  I wore the black and combination black & red skirts during the Christmas Holidays.  Somewhere in the back of my mind I was saving this one for today 😉 .  This ball skirt (with the added tulle underneath) is so feminine AND it has pockets!   Since RED happens to be my favorite color, I have a lot of it in my closet.

I purchased this top not to long ago, it’s the same designer as the skirt.  I had every intention on pairing this particular top with a pink pencil skirt.  But something wonderful happened.  I saw these shoes online on day as I was browsing.  I went to the store and there they were, calling my name and I could not resist.   I immediately thought about paring the red skirt and top together along with these shoes.  It was a style winner.  In addition to the cowl neck the back of this top is so sweet, it has three pearl button closures and a keyhole. (It also has a solid black ruffle at the bottom which you can’t see.)

Style Tip:  When I purchase any top I try to make sure I can wear it with other things.  This top is very versatile. It can be worn tucked or untucked, worn with jeans, slacks or shorts… even belted.

As I thought about accessories, I knew I wanted something other than RED.  I wanted to play up the pink.  I did that with my earrings.  I also added a long necklace with a bit of pinkish bling.  I threw on a rose gold cuff and watch.  I’m so in LOVE! this look is so sweet.  BUT the sweetest, these two-toned RED and PINK heels!

My BAG; as you can see matches my shoes.  I don’t normally pair the exact same bag to my shoes.  But I fell in love with this bag and had to have it.  I have to keep the collection going right?  And since there are NO RULES I matched it up!

Right now, these shoes and bag are 30% off! OH!.. and Happy Valentines Day!

Sunday Look: Super Sunday- Casual

Happy SUPER Sunday!… Today is what most of us have been waiting for even if our team isn’t playing.  That brings me to today’s outfit.  I’m SUPER casual and SUPER comfortable.  Not only was I able to wear this outfit to church but I can easily transition into today’s festivities.  All I have to do is put on a pair of flats 😉 and I’m on my way to being SUPER, SUPER comfortable.

This outfit was SUPER simple to put together.  Basically all I had to do was put on high heels and throw on a necklace.  It’s that simple!  Of course I took it a little further by adding an arm full of bangles, earrings and watch. TOUCHDOWN!!!!

My BAG today was SUPER cute and simple as well.  It’s just a beaded box and I love it!

Since it’s SUPER SUNDAY I thought I’d be playful with my touch down pillow!  Enjoy the game!

Sunday Look: Relaxed Neutral Territory

Happy Sunday everyone!  Another beautiful winter day in Texas.

Today’s look is a little more relaxed than normal.  I love the neutral look especially “winter white”.  It’s such a crisp relaxed look and one that can be worn in all seasons.  I chose simple straight leg slacks and a sleeveless top with a turtle neck.  The look really pops when you add a second color to the mix.  I did that by adding a long cardigan with two neutral colors.  It doesn’t hurt when those two colors make animal print 🙂  I also love to pair gold and pearls with winter white.

I accessorized with a matching two-toned trio “necklace, bracelet and earrings”.  I opted for open toe boots in the same neutral color pallet.

My BAG: today I went BIG…  This relaxed looked called for a much bigger bag.
