Sunday Look: T-Shirt & Gingham Ruffle Skirt

Happy Sunday and Memorial Day Weekend!  It’s a hot one I know that… how are we suppose to keep cool?  It’s almost too hot to put on clothes 🙂  🙂
Today’s outfit was an attempt to be as cool as possible.  Nothing cooler than a thin white T-shirt.  I paired that with a fuchsia (its not redgingham ruffled skirt.  Yes I’m in gingham again!  Didn’t plan it that way 😉 . The skirt pairs very well with the T-shirt and makes for a very casual cool Sunday look.

Something this casual doesn’t need very many accessories.  I added a wide white belt, shades of pink bauble earrings and a trio of necklaces (16″, 18″ & 20″ trending).  Of course I’m never complete without my high heels.  Today I opted for white peep toed platforms.

My BAG today keeping with the casual look, a pink crossbody.  I simply knotted the strap to shorten and carried it at the knot.  Simple!

Sunday Look: A Nod to the RED, WHITE & BLUE

Happy Sunday! Well, the July 4th holiday is upon us.  No better time to wear a little bit of RED, WHITE & BLUE… to celebrate the holiday.  Last week I mentioned that would be mixing old and new pieces together for the summer.  These (old) white slacks scream summer.  To complete the look add a little red and blue to the mix.  A blue peplum halter top suited the straight legged white slacks perfectly.  Every woman should own at least one Halter Top, it exposes the sexiest part of a woman’s body ” her shoulders”.  No matter a woman’s size her shoulders are very sexy!

Now that you have the White and Blue all you need is RED.  Red shoes complete the look.  Today I opted for a softer round toe platform heel verses my all time favorite pointy toe heel. Change is good, in this case either one would work.  No wrong choices here.

The peplum top is very detailed around the neck, NO necklace required.  All I had to do was add my usual pieces, earrings and my go to bangles.  Today I rocked three glass bangles in the RED, WHITE & BLUE (clink, clink)!

Let’s talk about my BAG;  I spotted this (showstopper)  RED tote bag on a mannequin.  I immediately hightailed it over to the purse section.  I couldn’t find it anywhere 🙁  so I did the next best thing, took it off the mannequin!  What else was I to do? I wanted this bag.   Today was my first time carrying it.  It’s HUGE and I love it!  This bag is going to be great for traveling I can already tell.  It will hold all my essentials… and more.   My daughter has already put claims on it LOL 🙂 . It’s still available online by the way.

Enjoy the July 4th holiday and all the festivities. Be safe and… How are you rocking your RED, WHITE & BLUE?

Sunday Look: Relaxed Frayed Jeans

Happy Sunday everyone, I’m back.  I missed last week due to being so exhausted.  Our oldest grand daughter graduated from High School and we threw her a graduation party that left me with all kinds of aches and pains 🙂 .  Thankfully I’ve recovered.

Today was a casual Sunday.  Casual meets comfort in these mid-rise, bootcut jeans with slits at the bottom and the best part “frayed hems“.  They are so chic!  I could have paired my jeans with just about any top.  But, there is noting like a crisp white blouse.

When it came to accessories I kept it simple.   A long beaded bling necklace and long beaded earrings.  You all know I’m never without a bangle or two.  I thought I would step up my game in a pair of comfortable open toed platform heels.  They are comfortable because they are old and broken-in LOL!

My BAG today was this large denim tote.  Sometimes a big bag is just better!  It was a perfect choice for todays outfit!

Today was Picnic Sunday… What does one wear when church is combined with picnic day?  So happy you asked?  I knew I needed to be comfortable, cool and appropriate.  I chose this long denim button down with high side slits top.  I paired it with a soft stretch denim legging.  You know I’m hardly ever without my heels.  I can maneuver just about any terrain in my heels 😉  (I always keep a back-up pair of flat just in case).

Let’s talk accessories… A friend gave me a set of string button necklaces.  They were the perfect accessory to this top.  I knew I wanted something long.  I wore two, left one long and doubled the other for a more layered look.  Simple right?  My other favorite accessory was this denim bag.  It added something whimsy to the entire outfit.  Oh! how can I forget about my SUPER SIZED SUNNIES, so obsessed, LOL.  Didn’t need much else and the look was complete.  Until next time, have a great week!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone… How do you RED WHITE & BLUE? I thought about what I would  wear to the picnic then later for cocktails.  Not wanting to change clothes completely, I decided to just change my accessories.

It’s so simple to go from day to night with little effort. The elastic ankle jean I’m wearing are I-N-C International Concepts from Mays’s they are unbelievably soft.   My red Vince Camuto pumps (pointed toes) were purchased about two years ago from Dillard’s.  I switched from a tied scarf (it’s actually my husband’s pocket square, SHHH don’t tell, he didn’t even notice) to a chunky necklace, added bangles and changed my watch.  The one major change that made the biggest difference was my bags.  The large Michael Kors Tote and small sequence clutch (added some sparkle) was a perfect transition.  Enjoy the BEAUTI in your long weekend.  And lastly, please remember our fallen Military men and women.
