Sunday Look: Coat Dress

Happy Sunday… I missed you guys last week. I had my (red) outfit all ready. I had the worst allergy attack. How can this be the last Sunday of 2018? What a year, huh!… So grateful I’m still here to see it to the end. How many of you make New Years Resolutions? I don’t, I try to make goals and hope to see them through.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, ours was blessed. It was a great day for family. Now it’s time to take down all the beautiful decorations.

Even though Christmas was in the seventies, today we were in the thirties and that made me so happy. It was the perfect day for actual winter clothing.

Today’s outfit was a Green Paisley Jacquard Bell Sleeve coat dress with double breasted bodice. This coat wears beautifully buttoned up. I wore a short black sleeveless dress underneath (just in case) 😉 . This coat is not new at all. I’ve had it several years and I never remember to wear it. So happy I remembered it today! 🙂 .

Style Tip: If you are wearing a coat as a dress make sure whatever you wear underneath does not hang longer than the coat itself.

Since it was a cool day and “coat weather” I added black gloves (my mother’s gloves, which made them special) and stockings. I also accessorized with a black beaded necklace and black earrings. I chose a pointy toe black pump to finish off the look.

My BAG today was a quilted faux patent leather satchel featuring a flat top handle. Such a cute little bag that happens to be very roomy inside. Perfect bag to play dress-up.

I wish each of you a safe and Happy New Year. Lastly, what are you wearing New Year’s Eve?

CHEERS!

Sunday Look: A Texas Fall & Florals

Happy Sunday everyone…. Its been a couple of weeks since I’ve had a chance to post.   I’m back even though I’m very late.  I’ve been very busy these last couple of week.  I managed to sneak in a little bit of travel.  A girls trip to Las Vegas 😉 .   It’s amazing how fast times is passing us by.  It will be November in a few days.  I don’t want to think about it.   I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t comment on the crazy Fall weather we’ve been having.  I was SOOOOO excited when we had our little cool snap a couple of weeks ago.   Today, not so much, but it’s all good.
That leads me to today’s outfit.  I was really struggling this morning, I had my mind set on cooler weather.  Lucky for me I have some hidden gems in the back of my closet.  I purchased this floral jewel tone dress with three-quarter length bell sleeves last year during a Macy’s end of year sale.  The colors are just beautiful, wouldn’t you agree?   I almost forgot about it until this morning.

I knew I wanted to wear a shade of pink today no matter what.  I like to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  The colors in my dress allowed me to do just that through earrings.  The pink balls with added bling set the tone for my other jewelry accessories.  The collar necklace was made for this dress and I didn’t even know it.. LOL!  It was perfect.  I finished my jewelry choices with silver bangles.  But…. wait a minute.  I don’t know how I did it, but I chose the perfect shoe.  A turquoise suede pointy toe high heel.  I was like, WOW! this really looks good with all the beautiful colors.   I’m amazed how things always manage to come together.   I was thrilled with this outcome 🙂  🙂 .

My BAG today, a faux leather shoulder bag with a large faux reptile print.

Sunday Look: Season Transition

Happy Sunday!  Saying good-bye to Winter… as the season changes we sometimes get caught between the two.   Today was one of those days, I really didn’t know what to wear.  The struggle is real sometimes 😉 .  One day it’s cool and the next day it feels like Summer.  Even though I love the cooler weather, I’m ready for some bright colors and to be done with this roller coaster weather.  How do you transition to the next season?

Through all the confusion, I decided on a black sheer top with tulip sleeves and an embroidered blue and black ball skirt.  This light weight sheer top was perfect for a warm day like today.  The skirt being a little heavier helped to balance the entire outfit and it’s suitable for the season.  I wore the top untucked and added a skinny belt for dimension.

I kept the accessories pretty light today as well.  Wooden earrings and a knotted bead necklace.   Since everything else was pretty low key, I chose to bling it up with my shoes. The jeweled glitter platforms sparkle with blue and black tones.  The heel backs are jeweled up as well.

My BAG was a small blue handbag with gold accents.  Sometime less is more.

Sunday Look: Christmas Ball Skirt & Trumpet Cuffs

Happy Christmas Eve… Who else is excited to celebrate the wonder of his LOVE.  I will keep todays post short.  I have so much to do for our family’s annual Christmas Eve Party.  It’s almost time to put on our PJ’s and veg out!  We always have so much fun.  I wonder what the grand girls will do this year.

Today’s outfit although it’s not all red like I’ve done the past few Sunday’s,  I’m still festive.  Wearing my red, black and green sheer mesh knit bodysuit featuring an allover floral print, a round neckline, long sleeves with trumpet cuffs.  I’ve paired it with my all-time favorite ball skirt with loose pleats and pockets.  I adore this skirt so much.  It really dresses up any top you could pair with it.  Most of all the RED screams CHRISTMAS !!!

I’m keeping my accessories minimal. I’m wearing earrings in a deep red gemstone with matching necklace.   I couldn’t resist wearing these red pointy toe suede pumps with a bow detail. I even threw on a pair of stockings ( thigh highs) 😉 .

My BAG today is a sparkle of sequence.  It’s the finishing touch for the entire outfit.

I just love this time of year.  Everyone is so loving, giving and all is sparkling.
Until next time, Merry Christmas you all!

Sunday Look: Relaxed Frayed Jeans

Happy Sunday everyone, I’m back.  I missed last week due to being so exhausted.  Our oldest grand daughter graduated from High School and we threw her a graduation party that left me with all kinds of aches and pains 🙂 .  Thankfully I’ve recovered.

Today was a casual Sunday.  Casual meets comfort in these mid-rise, bootcut jeans with slits at the bottom and the best part “frayed hems“.  They are so chic!  I could have paired my jeans with just about any top.  But, there is noting like a crisp white blouse.

When it came to accessories I kept it simple.   A long beaded bling necklace and long beaded earrings.  You all know I’m never without a bangle or two.  I thought I would step up my game in a pair of comfortable open toed platform heels.  They are comfortable because they are old and broken-in LOL!

My BAG today was this large denim tote.  Sometimes a big bag is just better!  It was a perfect choice for todays outfit!

Sunday Look: Full Skirt & Bell Sleeve Blouse

It’s Oscar Sunday!  The Diva in me wanted to wear a long gown to church today, LOL…  Just kidding! Not really.  Can you tell I’m looking forward to the Red Carpet Fashions.   Today I fashioned a recycled skirt from two years ago.  The A-Line Full Skirt will never go out of fashion. There are many different ways to wear this skirt.  Best of all it has pockets!  Last time I wore this skirt I styled it with a black long sleeve cotton tee with pearls and ankle boots.  I switched it up this go around.  I paired it with an off-white blouse featuring the trending bell sleeve, V-neck, button loop detail and a tie.

Accessories really weren’t necessary, my blouse is so detailed as I mentioned with the button loops and tie.  The long bell sleeves served as my accessory.

My BAG: Listen, I fell in love with this style bag when I first saw it in white.  I was so drawn to it that I wanted every color  in stock.  I now have four different colors.  Oops! I think I just told on myself.  My husband reads my Blog and this will probably raise his eyebrows 😉 .  I’m pretty sure I’m not alone, how many of you have purchased the same item in different colors?

Style Tip:  Don’t be afraid to recycle the same item of clothing.  You can re-style one piece many different ways!

I can’t wait to hear these words tonight on the Red Carpet “Who are you wearing”

Sunday Look: Sunday Best – Double Bell Sleeves

Happy Sunday!  Today was a pretty special day (despite the fact that I was fighting allergies).  Our church celebrated Heritage Sunday, we heard a message from Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II.  I was also fortunate enough to get a picture with him as well.  Heritage Sunday called for you to wear your Sunday Best or  Heritage Attire.  I  chose to dress in my “Sunday Best”.

Have you ever purchased an item and asked this question, “when and where will I wear it?   I do that a lot. Well, today that question was answered for me.  This straight black dress is turned into a showstopper by the double bell sleeves.  Without the sleeves it would be just another black dress.  Its all about the details that make fashion, FASHION…

This dress is fabulous without accessories, but when I added the long knotted black and white peal necklace it became HIGH FASHION 😉 .  It’s amazing how one piece of jewelry can change the entire look of an outfit.  I downplayed my earrings in order to keep the necklace the main attraction.  The double bell sleeves and necklace work well together.

When it came to deciding which shoe to pair with this dress I was perplexed.  I must have tried on about six different pair of black shoes.  I narrowed it down to two pair, but the open toe sling backs won over the pointy toe pumps, can you believe it?

My BAG: I chose a bag that was fairly simple, black satin square clutch with a woven detail on the front flap.  I didn’t want my bag to take over!

I can’t get enough of today’s outfit!  The necklace is EVERYTHING!
