Sunday Look: Jumpsuit, It’s a Wrap

Happy Sunday!  Who else is sleepy?  I’m really feeling that lost hour of sleep.  Today happens to be “International Women’s Day”. Cheers to all the trailblazers that have led the way.

Even though I was very sleepy this morning, I managed to put together the first thing I pulled out. This Currant colored wrap jumpsuit. The lantern sleeves and wide legs allows for a beautiful flow. The contrast stitching highlights the entire jumpsuit, especially the tie belt.

The contrast stitching made accessorizing a breeze. I adorned my face with very large glittery hoop earrings and disc necklace.  But the show stopper had to be the white boots.  Yah, yah you can wear white in the Winter!  Trust me I tried regular pumps and high heel sandals.   When you know, you know.  And I know these white boots were the right choice to bring this look to LIFE.

My BAG today, a magazine clutch!

I want to give a special shout-out to my favorite photographer, my husband Mr. Rick.  He is very supportive, scouts different locations, guides and direct me on every photoshoot Image result for kissy lips .

Sunday Look: Split Back Houndstooth Cape Dress

Happy Sunday! Did we enjoy that extra day in February? Good-bye Leap Year!  Hello March. Spring is right around the corner.  There’s no stopping it now.  Like years past, I failed to maximize my closest.  Mostly because we don’t have heavy Winters and I have quite a few heavy Winter clothing.  Don’t ask me why, especially knowing I live in Texas.  It really makes it hard to maximize your closet.  Take today for instance. It was a Spring-like day, even though we are still in Winter.

I have the habit of bulk shopping and may not wear an outfit right away.  I’m trying to break that habit. 😉 .

Today’s outfit is giving me old Hollywood Glam. I wore a split back houndstooth cape dress.  Guys, I love the fit and style of this dress. It’s so elegant and can be worn to any special occasion.  Not only is houndstooth one of my favorite prints, but when you mix it with a cape, bodycon/pencil skirt type fit, I’m here for it all.  There are only a few smaller sizes left in this dress.  Grab it!

In keeping with the elegant look I was going for, I accessorized with pearls.  A long strand of pearls looped and a second multi-strand pearl necklace gave a major layered effect. Next, pearl beaded earrings.  Patent leather pointy toe heels added to the look.

My BAG; I have to be honest, I struggled between this houndstooth bag and a solid black patent leather bag.  Both worked.  I just felt some type of way about the houndstooth bag.  It’s certainly unexpected!  And I like to push the unexpected!

Sunday Look: Triple Hiss

Happy Sunday Guys! Can you believe we are approaching the last week of February? It will be Spring before we know it.  This weather has certainly been a roller coaster of temperatures, (up and down).  Some nights we find ourselves sitting at our grand daughter’s soccer game all wrapped up in blankets to sitting in the stands dressed in long sleeves watching our other grand daughter participate in a cheerleader showcase.  That’s Texas weather!  Today’s weather was perfect for an outdoor photoshoot.

Today’s outfit “Triple Hiss”  Why? Because I’m wearing triple reptile prints.  My jumpsuit, shoes and handbag all reptile print.  I was really excited to try it.  I love how all the different prints tie-in together.  I don’t follow any rules, If I  like it, I wear it…

The jumpsuit is from last season (no longer available) bold reptile print showcases wide short sleeves and a belted waist.

Accessorizing was so easy.  I immediately went for the reptile bootie.  I love the contrast of the two prints together.  I could have easily chosen a black heel, how boring is that? 😉 .  I did pair black beaded bow earrings and a beaded necklace.

My BAG today, a reptile print box clutch/shoulder-bag. Again the reptile print was a nice contrast to the jumpsuit and booties.

Sunday Look: Utility Jumpsuit

Happy Super Sunday! Today is the day, Super Bowl Sunday… No big party plans over here.  Just me and the husband hanging out. Did you know that today’s date is a rare eight-digit palindrome (reads the same, forward and backward), 02/02/2020 — the only one of its kind this century!

I usually designate Super Bowl Sunday as a casual or dress down kinda day.  I did that (I think) in this Utility Jumpsuit.  This jumpsuit reminded me of my childhood.  My uncle wore a utility Jumpsuit all the time.  I think my dad did too.  It has all the components, front zipper, utility pockets and elastic waist with an attached belt. Upon first look, you either like it or you hate it, that was my first impression.  In order to settle that argument in my head, I had to try it on.  Surprisingly, I loved it!  It’s very comfortable, the fabric has the feel of suede.  The print is a snake skin.  I’m wearing a medium.

This jumpsuit can be styled so many different ways.  I was going for a semi casual look.  I accessorized light today.  Only wearing large gold hoop earrings with pearls and a gold choker.  My shoes made it dressy.  Yes. I mixed my prints.  Animal print heels went so well with the golden color of the fabric.  I consider animal print a neutral, which means it goes with anything. NO RULES…

My BAG, a small black suede handbag with a colorful tie enter-twined between the chain handle.

Sunday Look: Green Ribbed Dress

Happy Sunday Guys!  How can this be the last Sunday in January?  It’s been a long month.  Still one of my favorite months of the year. It’s going to be hard to say good-bye to my celebration month.  Looking forward to Valentines ♥.

Our weekend started off full of fun and involved really dressing up!  We had the pleasure of attending a Black Tie Gala honoring our Pastor’s 15th Anniversary.  It was a great night to honor our Pastor, dine and mingle with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Dressing up in our finest added to the occasion.

Today’s outfit is rather simple. This ribbed high collar dress happens to be 95% Ecologically Grown Cotton. A cotton grown using practices that help protect biodiversity.   I’m happy to do my part for our environment. You won’t believe the price either!  If you want it, hurry not many sizes left.

Notice the accessories? Give me a minute and I will address it. For starters, this color pairs well with silver.  Since there was no secondary color to pull from, I opted for silver jewelry and white studded ankle boots.  YES, white boots! Forget about that old cliche’ of not wearing white after Labor Day.  Trust me, it’s ok and still trending in 2020!

I purchased the boots around the November timeframe from Macy’s “Last Act Sale”.  I will add two links where to get similar pairs below.

My BAG, a winter white, faux reptile clutch trimmed with a little bit of black and silver. Nailed it!  How simple is this entire outfit?  I love effortless dressing.

Sunday Look: Classic Two-Piece

Happy Sunday! Happy MLK weekend. For the past several years two of my grand girls have been a part of the MLK festivities with their middle school choir. I shed tears every year.  I love hearing my grand girls sing and taking part in such a memorable celebration.  They have beautiful voices by the way! 🙂 .

There was a chill in the air this morning.  This was the perfect opportunity to sport this classic houndstooth single breast jacket and wide leg crop pant.  I love the wide covered belt and buckle. The wide leg pants are cropped with a flat front.  The two pieces look good together, there was no splitting up these matching pieces.  I added a black crew neck shirt underneath which served as the perfect backdrop for a black & white (long) pearl necklace.  I’m so in LOVE with this necklace, I can hardly handle it 🙂 .

In addition to the black & white pearl necklace, I wore black & white dangling earrings. Threw in a few bangles as well.  I like to wear an odd number when I accessorize with bangles.  I just happen to have the perfect black pointy toe pumps.  This look…. I was feeling it!

My BAG today was a little black on black bag with a chain detail.  It also features a faux pom pom.  It comes with a strap to wear as a crossbody or shoulder bag.  This particular bag is sold out. You can purchase it on the secondary market I’m sure.

Sunday Look: Faux Leather “Restyled”

Happy Sunday Guys!  How is the start of 2020 treating you?  I’m having a little bit of a struggle trying to get back into a routine.  I had no trouble celebrating my 59th birthday last Wednesday 🙂 .  I celebrated my actual “birthday” with the family only.

I celebrated again on Friday with my husband, daughter and several close friends.

Oh! I almost forgot, I did a mimi photo shoot on my birthday too. I will share those pics soon.

Today’s dress was a repeat. I restyled it with different accessories. I last wore this dress February of 2016.

Surprisingly, my husband remembered my dress from last time.  He actually chose it for me.  The color reminded him of his favorite college football team.

This time around I wore rose gold jewelry and solid colored heels.  That’s all I had to do in order to change it up.

My BAG today, the cutest little animal print handbag. I consider animal print a neutral. It was a nice contrast to the tone on tone of my dress and heels.

Sunday Look: Happy New Year

Image result for happy new year 2020"

Happy New Year! Wow, 2020 can you believe it?  Out with the old and in with the new.  Unfortunately I ended my year with the Flu.  I missed Christmas, my favorite holiday of the year.  We weren’t able to get our normal family Christmas Eve photo either.  I was looking forward to showing off our matching shirts.  I want a do-over!  I also missed the last Sunday of the year too 🙁 .   Nothing was going to stop me from celebrating the first Sunday of the year/new decade.

This happens to be my birthday week as well.  I’m so excited for Wednesday, turning 59!  I’m hoping my heath holds and I get to celebrate my way.  Time to start planning for the big 60…Image result for 59"

Today’s look was rather simple.  This is the dress I planned on wearing last Sunday (hence the pop of RED).  This dress reminds me of something out of the sixties.  All I needed was Go-Go Boots and a hair flip.  I chose it for the pop of red. Simple, yet  cute.

Accessorizing was easy, again. I kept it simple by wearing black earrings and black necklace.  I saved the additional pops of red for my shoes and handbag.

Speaking of my BAG, is this not the cutest RED box bag?  A little gift to myself.  I love the faux reptile print look.  It’s Vegan!

Sunday Look: It’s A Wrap “Jumpsuit”

Happy Sunday… and Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all that celebrate. Another week in the books. This month is moving quickly. Next week Winter will be over and Spring will hopefully show up in its place. I’m already there in my mind. Pretty sure we have a few more Winter episodes lurking in the background. I’m not waiting, I’ve already started my Spring wardrobe.

Today I chose a floral wrap jumpsuit with a keyhole front. I had to make that keyhole church appropriate by wearing a cami underneath. I love the uniqueness of this jumpsuit. The legs wrap around and to my surprise it gives you a MAJOR split when you sit down, oops! Trust me, I was able to keep it classy 🙂 . I can wear this jumpsuit out on the town and be sexy with my high splits 😉 .

Remember how I always say you should pull out one or two colors in your outfit. My first choice was to pull out the orange or yellow. I went with the yellow (mustard) I’m calling it. I found the perfect mustard color earrings, I felt like I needed to make a statement somewhere. I could have done that with a necklace but that’s always expected “the statement necklace”. I kept the necklace in the same color pallet, but understated. Can we talk about these shoes for a second. They are beyond perfect! The mustard color accented perfectly and the velvet added another texture to the entire outfit.

My BAG, a round bamboo shoulder bag. It was the icing, point, blank, period! It added yet another element of texture. I can’t think of a better choice.

This entire outfit has so many layers of different textures, from the earrings, to the shoes, to the bag. It all just works.

Get ready people, Spring is coming so let the color popping begin!

Sunday Look: Spring Beginnings

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I’ve found myself to be in a bit of a slump.  Sometimes life grabs you by the horns and try to drag you down.

Has this weather been crazy or what?  All this back and forth of cool weather then hot.  I’m over it!  I decided to bring in Spring early with today’s outfit.  Yes, I’m saying bring on Spring.  You all know I LOVE me some cold weather, but the inconsistency of it all…. 🙁 .  I love me some winter clothing.

Today’s outfit was wishful thinking that Spring is well on its way.  I’ve worn this floral print skirt before.  The burst of blooms against the black background makes a colorful statement.  Paired with a burgundy loose fitting top with full pleated layers on the sleeves. Guys, I have this top in three different colors.  I purchased a green one last summer.  At the end of the season last year, I found a black one and this burgundy one I’m wearing today on the clearance rack.  There was no way I could leave them there.  I got two for less than I paid for one 🙂 .

Today’s accessories was non other than rose gold.  Every piece from my earrings, necklace, watch and bangles was rose gold.  I thought it paired superbly with the burgundy.   I couldn’t have chosen a better shoe either.  The burgundy sock booties really set off the entire outfit.  This is probably the last time I will get to wear them this season.  Great way to end this thing they call Winter, LOL !!!

My BAG today was a deep burgundy velvet shoulder bag with gold trim.  Sometimes it’s not good to repeat the same color scheme over and over.  This worked because of the deep burgundy, it stood out on its own.  Love the entire look.  I felt good today!

I didn’t Blog last week so I thought I would include last weeks Sunday Look.  I wore a bright lime green long vest with cream colored slacks and top.  My shoes and bag popped in the same color green.  Loved this outfit too.
