Sunday Look: Classic Two-Piece

Happy Sunday! Happy MLK weekend. For the past several years two of my grand girls have been a part of the MLK festivities with their middle school choir. I shed tears every year.  I love hearing my grand girls sing and taking part in such a memorable celebration.  They have beautiful voices by the way! 🙂 .

There was a chill in the air this morning.  This was the perfect opportunity to sport this classic houndstooth single breast jacket and wide leg crop pant.  I love the wide covered belt and buckle. The wide leg pants are cropped with a flat front.  The two pieces look good together, there was no splitting up these matching pieces.  I added a black crew neck shirt underneath which served as the perfect backdrop for a black & white (long) pearl necklace.  I’m so in LOVE with this necklace, I can hardly handle it 🙂 .

In addition to the black & white pearl necklace, I wore black & white dangling earrings. Threw in a few bangles as well.  I like to wear an odd number when I accessorize with bangles.  I just happen to have the perfect black pointy toe pumps.  This look…. I was feeling it!

My BAG today was a little black on black bag with a chain detail.  It also features a faux pom pom.  It comes with a strap to wear as a crossbody or shoulder bag.  This particular bag is sold out. You can purchase it on the secondary market I’m sure.

Sunday Look: Faux Leather “Restyled”

Happy Sunday Guys!  How is the start of 2020 treating you?  I’m having a little bit of a struggle trying to get back into a routine.  I had no trouble celebrating my 59th birthday last Wednesday 🙂 .  I celebrated my actual “birthday” with the family only.

I celebrated again on Friday with my husband, daughter and several close friends.

Oh! I almost forgot, I did a mimi photo shoot on my birthday too. I will share those pics soon.

Today’s dress was a repeat. I restyled it with different accessories. I last wore this dress February of 2016.

Surprisingly, my husband remembered my dress from last time.  He actually chose it for me.  The color reminded him of his favorite college football team.

This time around I wore rose gold jewelry and solid colored heels.  That’s all I had to do in order to change it up.

My BAG today, the cutest little animal print handbag. I consider animal print a neutral. It was a nice contrast to the tone on tone of my dress and heels.

Sunday Look: Happy New Year

Image result for happy new year 2020"

Happy New Year! Wow, 2020 can you believe it?  Out with the old and in with the new.  Unfortunately I ended my year with the Flu.  I missed Christmas, my favorite holiday of the year.  We weren’t able to get our normal family Christmas Eve photo either.  I was looking forward to showing off our matching shirts.  I want a do-over!  I also missed the last Sunday of the year too 🙁 .   Nothing was going to stop me from celebrating the first Sunday of the year/new decade.

This happens to be my birthday week as well.  I’m so excited for Wednesday, turning 59!  I’m hoping my heath holds and I get to celebrate my way.  Time to start planning for the big 60…Image result for 59"

Today’s look was rather simple.  This is the dress I planned on wearing last Sunday (hence the pop of RED).  This dress reminds me of something out of the sixties.  All I needed was Go-Go Boots and a hair flip.  I chose it for the pop of red. Simple, yet  cute.

Accessorizing was easy, again. I kept it simple by wearing black earrings and black necklace.  I saved the additional pops of red for my shoes and handbag.

Speaking of my BAG, is this not the cutest RED box bag?  A little gift to myself.  I love the faux reptile print look.  It’s Vegan!

Sunday Look: Holiday Red “Plaid Palazzo Pants”

Image result for christmas border free"

Hello Happy Sunday! Only a few more days until Christmas, are we ready?  I still need to grocery shop for Christmas dinner and the dreaded wrapping, UGH!  I am looking forward to our annual family Christmas Eve get-together.   I love making memories for our grandgirls.  Be sure to watch my FB page to see what matching outfits we chose this year.

In addition to my Sunday Look, I want to share a few of my holiday decorations.  I love sprucing up the house  for the holidays.

Today’s look kept with my Holiday RED theme.  I decided to incorporate plaid into the mix.  Plaid is very popular for Christmas.  I chose a pair of high waisted palazzo pants paired with a black long sleeve blouse with a twisted keyhole neck.  Sometimes I wish I were a little bit taller.  I had to have about six inches cut off the bottom of these pants.  Thank goodness for high heels.

This entire Holiday Season, I’ve only needed a necklace once. This makes styling my outfits so easy. Today I only wore red rhinestone earrings. I chose a two-toned heel in red and cream.

My BAG today matched my shoes. I don’t normally match my shoes and bag.  Since I had them both, why not!

Finally, I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have a safe and happy holiday with your families.

Sunday Look: Holiday Red “Let it Flow”

Hello guys! Happy Sunday. Let me start out by saying, what a great Christmas production we witnessed this morning by the youth of the church. They really told the true meaning of Christmas.

As the big day (Christmas) approaches, I have to ask, how is your holiday going? So many people fall into a deep depression for many reasons during the holiday season. It’s very important that we check on our friends and family. Just because we are happy, doesn’t mean others around us are happy. Be cognizant of that fact.

Somehow I’ve managed to keep with my yearly holiday tradition of RED. Today’s dress is a wide-cut in airy, crêped chiffon. Ruffled collar and V-neck with drawstring at top. Wide, raglan balloon sleeves, and skirt in gathered tiers with flounce at hem.  This dress makes me want to twirl! If you feel the dress is too short, legging would be appropriate. I’m pretty short, the length is perfect for me.

Again, minimal accessories were needed. The drawstring V-neck eliminated the need for a necklace. Of course you could wear one if you wanted to. I hear a lot of people say “I could never put that together” Dresses like this, make it easy! I’m never without some sort of accessory. Glittery earrings keep with the holiday vibe. Instead if a pump, I opted for ankle boots. The black satin fabric with flower decal finished the look. I LOVE how they look with this dress.

Style Tip: Most tiered dresses look fabulous with angle boots!

Sunday Look: Holiday Red “Animal Print Trimmed in Red”

Hello friends! By now, most of us are in full holiday mode. Planning family gatherings, parties, menus and gift giving. I just love this time of year!

For me, wardrobe planning is a great part of my holiday planning. Like I mentioned last week, I like to wear RED on Sunday’s in December. It’s sort of my homage to Christmas.

Today’s outfit is a twist, yet it included RED. I loved the idea of wearing animal print. It’s just another way to add that element of surprise to any holiday outfit. I’ve always talked about pulling out one color in your outfit to accessorize. The sash was trimmed in RED which gave me the style opportunity.

In keeping with my theme, I accessorized in RED. Teardrop earrings, a beaded necklace and the perfect shade of RED heels topped with a bow. How perfect is that?

My BAG today, a small RED vinyl wristlet. Simply stated.

Don’t be afraid to add another element of style to any outfit.

Sunday Look: Holiday Red “The Beginning in Houndstooth”

Hello guys, welcome to December! Can you believe this year is almost over? I just wanted to jump on here and welcome you to December. I also hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Holiday. I must admit the four day weekend was nice! I cooked and hosted for fifteen. Yay me! 🙂

As we approach my favorite time of the year, I can’t help but be excited. I’m so ready for all the glitz and glamour that the holiday brings. Not forgetting the real reason for the season.

If you’ve followed me in the past, you know that I love wearing RED the entire month of December. I’m not sure I can pull it off again this year, but I’m sure going to try.

I’ve started this Holiday season with a red and black houndstooth Poncho. The cape and poncho are back, and they’re more sleek and sophisticated than ever. Especially this one with a faux fur collar. It added another level of sophistication. I simply draped this one over a sleeveless sheath dress. I loved the look. It was almost a one and done.

Accessorizing was never easier. I wore red drop earrings and added a gold broach to the fur collar, that’s it! I wore black knee-high boots for the finish.

My BAG today was a dressy black leather medium tote with a Chanel chain.

Let the RED Glam begin…

Sunday Look: A Softer Side

Happy Sunday! I know, I know its been a few weeks since I’ve been in front of the computer screen. Happy to share with you again. Sunday is my favorite day of the week to dress-up as you can see 😉 . Even though I dress-up during the week, it’s nothing like Sunday dressing. The dressing-up on Sunday thing started when I was a little girl. My mother always dressed-up my sisters and I on Sundays. Oh! how I remember the plaid dresses and long socks with our patent leather shoes. Ribbons, upon ribbons in our hair. This tradition goes back many years. I can remember my mother wearing those pointy toe kitten heels and ear bobs, as she called them. Great memories!

My dress today was chosen by my husband while out shopping. I didn’t try it on until we got home, it didn’t fit (it wouldn’t zip). I decided to keep it. I needed to drop a few LB’s anyway. Fast forward three weeks later, it fits! I’m not saying I lost any weight, but something happened 🙂 and I’m happy about it!

Yellow is one of my favorite Summer colors. I think it does something for my complexion. This floral dress is so soft and I simply love the silhouette. It’s so girly and SOFT looking. Anything with pockets and a sash is OK with me. I wanted to keep my entire look soft by adding pearls to the mix. Nothing is softer than pearls. I kept that softness down to my feet by wearing a cream strappy heels.

My BAG today was a straw clutch. I felt like it was just as soft and a great accompaniment to my entire outfit.

Sunday Look: Dot Print Jumpsuit

Hello, Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day! I want to get real for a moment. As I get older I see my body changing. Whether it’s a little bulge here or a sag there. I’ve learned to embrace some of my body flaws. Honestly, it wasn’t easy in the beginning. You know what, it is, what it is! After-all this is who I’m meant to be, this is me! Admittedly, some clothing, no matter how much we love an outfit, it may show off a few of those flaws. I may be able to do something about a few of them, others not so much. That’s okay. I’m looking for some kind exercise regimen to tie up loose ends LOL 🙂 🙂

My outfit today falls into that classic black and white category. I love this jumpsuit! I think I was drawn to the graphic white polka dots against the black background more than anything. The self tie belt allows you to tie a knot or do a one loop bow like I did. You can also use the belt as a headband.

The scoop-neck allowed me to accessorize with a long necklace. I chose a beaded pearl tear drop necklace. I kept the earrings simple in a round pearl ball mimicking the white polka dots. A single white bangle added another layer. Considering how short I am, and how long this jumpsuit is, I had to wear my tallest heels. I wore white platform super high heeled open toe shoes.

My BAG today was a white tote with a round black handle. It was the perfect piece against the graphic background.

Sunday Look: Sunshine

Hello and Happy Sunday… You can really tell Spring has sprung around here. We’ve had some pretty nice days and some hot ones too. It’s time we went full bloom.

Speaking of clothing, I have a couple of stories to share with you. I was in a retail store and saw a dress I really liked that was on the mannequin. I asked a floor attendant if they had it in stock. She said, “let me check” and asked me what size I needed. I said “a LARGE.” She came back with the dress and said, “I pulled you an EXTRA LARGE”. I didn’t ask for an extra large I asked for a LARGE! She pulled me a large and it fit perfectly. My question is this… Should she have pulled the size I asked for in the beginning? Was she calling me fat? I’m not so sure how I felt about it. Am I over exaggerating? What are your thoughts?

Second story. I was in a restaurant and a server dropped his tray and something splashed all over my new dress.  The server was apologetic and got me a hot, wet napkin to clean my dress. A few minutes later the manager comes over to see if I was successful in removing whatever they spilled from my dress. I have one question… What happened to giving the patron something for the mishap? They could have offered to clean my dress. They could have offered me a gift card, desert or something. I got nothing, just an apology. I guess I should be grateful for that! What do you think?

Let’s talk about today’s outfit. I was so excited about this yellow tiered sun dress. I loved the scalloped straps, they differ from your traditional spaghetti straps. I also felt it was appropriate for church, no need for a cover-up. The color is so vivid and screams Spring & Summer. This dress would look good with flat sandals as well.

I chose to accessorize with some fun, white, 3D earrings in the shape of a flower; paired with a flower necklace . I added three bangles for an added layer of color. My shoes really set off the entire outfit. The colorful floral fabric jumped out at you immediately. Such a great look!

My BAG today was also an added pop of color. I chose a green handbag with a gold strap. The green bag pulled out the green in my shoe.
