Sunday Look: Split Back Houndstooth Cape Dress

Happy Sunday! Did we enjoy that extra day in February? Good-bye Leap Year!  Hello March. Spring is right around the corner.  There’s no stopping it now.  Like years past, I failed to maximize my closest.  Mostly because we don’t have heavy Winters and I have quite a few heavy Winter clothing.  Don’t ask me why, especially knowing I live in Texas.  It really makes it hard to maximize your closet.  Take today for instance. It was a Spring-like day, even though we are still in Winter.

I have the habit of bulk shopping and may not wear an outfit right away.  I’m trying to break that habit. 😉 .

Today’s outfit is giving me old Hollywood Glam. I wore a split back houndstooth cape dress.  Guys, I love the fit and style of this dress. It’s so elegant and can be worn to any special occasion.  Not only is houndstooth one of my favorite prints, but when you mix it with a cape, bodycon/pencil skirt type fit, I’m here for it all.  There are only a few smaller sizes left in this dress.  Grab it!

In keeping with the elegant look I was going for, I accessorized with pearls.  A long strand of pearls looped and a second multi-strand pearl necklace gave a major layered effect. Next, pearl beaded earrings.  Patent leather pointy toe heels added to the look.

My BAG; I have to be honest, I struggled between this houndstooth bag and a solid black patent leather bag.  Both worked.  I just felt some type of way about the houndstooth bag.  It’s certainly unexpected!  And I like to push the unexpected!

Sunday Look: T-Shirt & Gingham Ruffle Skirt

Happy Sunday and Memorial Day Weekend!  It’s a hot one I know that… how are we suppose to keep cool?  It’s almost too hot to put on clothes 🙂  🙂
Today’s outfit was an attempt to be as cool as possible.  Nothing cooler than a thin white T-shirt.  I paired that with a fuchsia (its not redgingham ruffled skirt.  Yes I’m in gingham again!  Didn’t plan it that way 😉 . The skirt pairs very well with the T-shirt and makes for a very casual cool Sunday look.

Something this casual doesn’t need very many accessories.  I added a wide white belt, shades of pink bauble earrings and a trio of necklaces (16″, 18″ & 20″ trending).  Of course I’m never complete without my high heels.  Today I opted for white peep toed platforms.

My BAG today keeping with the casual look, a pink crossbody.  I simply knotted the strap to shorten and carried it at the knot.  Simple!

Sunday Look: Vintage Bloom

Happy Sunday!  OMG guys I had a pretty busy, FUN and awesome weekend.  I was so tired I had to take a nap which is why my post is so late today.  I wore 5 inch heels from six o’clock yesterday evening until 2:30 this morning.  We attended Flavors of Austin fund raiser for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  We had the opportunity to meet some great NFL Legends.  My husband was in his element.  You know we had to partake in the after party!  My feet were so swollen and hurting this morning I could not wear any of my shoes 🙁 . That meant I needed a miracle because I don’t own very many flats 🙁    It took a little while to find something but I prevailed, LOL!

Todays outfit had to serve twofold.  I was going for a vintage look where I could incorporate the sock bootie (because I needed something soft on my feet).  I had this pencil skirt with beautiful floral blooms and a sheer top that was full of blooms as well.  I fell in love with this top because of the gathered elastic sleeves. Even though both pieces had two different textures, they gave me the vintage feel I was hoping to pull off.

In addition to my sock peep toe booties, I accessorized with pearl jewelry keeping with that soft vintage look.

My BAG today was  large cream tote.  Sometimes you just need a big bag to hold all the extra essentials, which I needed to have with me today.

Sunday Look: Draped Neck Cardigan & Faux Leather Skirt

Happy Sunday!  I’m enjoying the cooler weather we are having.  I mention that because last year we really didn’t have many cold days.  I have all of these really cool winter clothing that I haven’t been able to wear in almost two years.  Well today that all changed.

I’ve been hoarding this draped neck cardigan for two years I know.  It’s quite warm and I wasn’t able to wear it before.  I was so excited to do so today.  This cardigan is knit with a half faux leather and knit long sleeve in a dark green.  I had every intention of pairing it with the exact skirt you see here.  I’ve been hoarding this skirt also.  This midi skirt in a green faux leather with front split and front pockets!  The two pieces complement each other well. (I won’t be linking these two since they are two years old and sold out).

If ever an outfit called to be accessorized with boots, it’s this one.  Black leather boots worked well to complete this look.  You know, there is something about a skirt with a front split and boots! 😉 .  I kept the other accessories to earrings and a long necklace only.

My BAG today was a round handbag with fringe and small gold studs.  I thought it worked well with the boots in particular.

Faux Leather Fact: Faux leather is usually made from “Polyurethane” a non-animal product.  It’s actually a form of plastic.  Unlike leather, it can be washed and comes in many different colors. Lastly it’s cheaper than leather (rightfully so) but you can get the same great look for a lower price.

Sunday Look: Rose Colored Pompom Shoes

Happy New Year and Happy First Sunday.  If you are reading this we made it to 2018!  What a blessing.  This is a special week, tomorrow is my birthday.  Today we celebrated my birthday, my nieces and nephew with our extended family.  I’m pretty sure there will be celebrations all week long 😉 …  Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I knew I wanted to start out my birthday week in my “Christmas Shoes”.  You have no idea how much I wanted these shoes and my Santa (husband) came through (love him).
Today was all about the shoes. A soft velvet pointed pump with 4 inch heel, faux fur pompoms in a rose color!  I’m loving anything pompom these days  .  Haroldson Velvet Pompom Pump, Faded Rose
I pictured many options in my head as to how I  would style them.  I chose this sheer floral embroidered top with crew neck, puff sleeves and cami underlay.

I paired it with a vegan leather pencil skirt.   Some other options I threw around was a tulle skirt (my first choice) and ball skirt with this top.  The possibilities are vast.  I’m going to do that tulle shirt, maybe for Valentines Day.

The other accessories were kept at a minimum.  This is the first time in a long time that I didn’t wear a necklace. Nothing was going to out shine my shoes 🙂 .  Earrings and bangles, two on each arm was it.  You all know how I feel about bangles, Love, Love!

My BAG today was a faux leather folded clutch in a hint of rose.  I’m always amazed at how my bags just flow with my outfits.  I’m always pleased with the end result.

Sunday Look: Blooming Top

Happy Sunday!  No matter how much you try to plan your outfits something always happens to nick that idea.  Lucky for me I have a variety in my closet, sometimes I just have to pick something last minute and hope it works.  Actually, I think its easier because I don’t have to put a lot of time and thought into it.  That’s exactly what happened today!

This floral top has been speaking to me Sunday after Sunday.  I always pass it up. (Why do we save certain things for later?) It turned out to be a great last minute choice.  I decided to wear a long black pencil skirt with the top.  I could have easily paired it with skinny leg slacks, wide leg pants or culottes.  Next time.

When wearing a colorful top as this, your accessories can be kept to a minimum.  Every girl loves earrings and should never go without.  I could have stopped there.  But I decided to add a multi-stand necklace in gold, silver and black.  If you are the type that hardly ever wears a watch, opt for identical bracelets one on each wrist.  Honestly, I don’t practice my own advice, but today I did.  I actually like the identical bracelet idea.  I was like hmmm! why didn’t I do this sooner?

When the time came to choose shoes my first thought was black, boring. I went BOLD as you can see.  Perfect choice right?

My BAG choice today was my “BUG BAG” whatever works!

Sunday Look: Happy New Year- Ivory Skirt & Top

Happy New Year!  Welcome to the first Sunday of 2017.  It’s hard to believe that another year has gone and a new one is upon us.  I’m sure we can all reflect on good, bad, happy and sad times in 2016.  Lucky for us we all get a new beginning starting today, so let’s make the best of 2017.

I didn’t know how I wanted to start my look for 2017.  I really enjoyed wearing all that RED last month.  But, a New Year a New Look!  I decided to keep it pretty simple and classic.  I chose an ivory skirt and top.  As you know from past posts I adore the pencil skirt.  My top is pretty basic adorned with a black collar that flows into a tie.  The tie eliminated the need for a necklace, making my accessories minimal.  I only needed a bag and earrings, I added a single bangle just because.  I wore black patent leather pointy toe pumps 😉 .

My BAG, black satin clutch with clear rhinestones.  That completes today’s outfit!

Happy 3rd Sunday!   Let’s talk SIMPLE dressing.  How can one take a simple Tee Shirt and pair it with a printed pencil skirt, bold jewelry and a hot pair of pumps?  Well that’s exactly what I did… It can’t get any easier than this.
Now lets talk about this fun necklace.  When I first saw it I was like OMG this is mine!  Lucky for me it was on clearance.  So were the earrings. Bold jewelry didn’t get the name “statement”  for nothing.
There is nothing hotter than a pair of HOTT pumps.  That pointed toe is everything.  🙂  I think I LIKE it… better yet, I LOVE it!!

Greetings! Happy Sunday to all… Today’s outfit is pretty simple and tight LOL. I’m a fan of the pencil skirts because they really give you a BUTT. I LOVE this one even if I had to take “baby steps”. It’s a skinny pencil skirt! My peplum top helped to accentuate my curves and it’s the perfect top to wear with a pencil skirt.
To top it all off, I chose a matching necklace and earrings. Black fringe shoes added the WOW factor and pulled it all together.
Style Tip: A fitted peplum with emphasis on the cinched waist doesn’t hide curves but instead accentuates them nicely. On the other hand, if you’d like to make the hips look a bit larger, the flared version may be the best choice, since it will suggest a more hourglass style figure.

What a great weekend it has been….  Happy Sunday…  Today’s outfit was cute yet simple.  I think I will place it in the fun category.  I chose this black and white pencil skirt and somewhat of a see thru crop top (not quite) with a cami.  Fringe accompanied me by way of my shoes and purse 🙂  Oh! Notice I’m not wearing my usual sunglasses.  I just picked up a new pair yesterday.   There is BEAUTI in everything, find it…
