Sunday Look: Rainy Sunday in September

Happy Sunday! Hello to a rainy Sunday in September.  Even though it’s still Summer I can feel a change coming especially with the rain.  I’m so excited!  It seems like when September rolls around most folks jump into Fall mode immediately.  Granted some states are experiencing cooler temperatures, not here!  I’ve noticed people wearing darker colors too.  Not me, it’s still Summer and pretty warm…  I will continue my summer wear and color pallet for a little while longer even though I can’t wait for some COOLER weather.
Today’s outfit served two purposes.  It was raining this morning and it’s still hot (summer).  I deviated from what I was planning on wearing because of the rain.  At the last minute I decided to throw on some (dressy) ankle length denim slacks and a colorful sleeveless shell with faux pearl details around the neckline.  Putting these two together allowed me to be somewhat dressier than I would have been in a regular pair of denim jeans.

It’s so easy to take a simple outfit like this and dress it up by adding the perfect accessories.  I played off the color of the shell and the pearl detail by adding long silver/pearl earrings. I loaded up on silver bangles and rings.  I chose a very colorful shoe that made the whole outfit pop!

My hand BAG also popped, the quilted flap and the silver chain link outline fared well with the entire outfit.

This outfit was so easy to style, very effortless…  one of the great things about fashion, it should be effortless and fun.

Sunday Look: Paperbag Waist Pants

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone had a fantastic July 4th holiday.  As you may have noticed I did not post a blog last week.  The main reason, I wore a suit that I had previously blogged two years ago. But! I’m back this week with a new outfit to share.
Some might be saying what are paperbag waist pants?  Paperbag waist pants are loose fitting pants that happen to be very comfortable.  They have a slightly higher waist and tie at the waist making a ruffle detail.  In order to make the waist stand out as intended, you should pair them with a tighter fitting top for a flattering silhouette.

I think I accomplished just that by pairing my paperbag waist pants with a tight fitting floral mesh top.  The colors mimics Summer.  The shimmer of the pant fabric makes them dressier and perfect for Church.  I can also wear these pants to work or a night out on the town.

I accessorized the outfit with tri colored jewelry, it picked up on the colors nicely.  I was so inspired by the top, I decided to go with a floral strappy sandal.

My BAG, I was further inspired by the floral top and shoes that I continued with a beautiful floral clutch.  The details on the bag are FABULOUS!

I hope you’ve learned a little bit about paperbag waist pants and I certainly hope you try a pair. You won’t be disappointed 😉 .

Happy Resurrection Sunday!  Easter always takes me back to my childhood. It has always been a very emotion holiday for lots of reasons. I always look forward to the various Easter Themed Productions each year. As a child my mother would dress my sisters and me in pastel colored dresses and hair bows. Today I chose to be bright in color not only for my childhood memories, but in honor of my deceased brother, blue was his favorite color.
This scuba fabric midi is so comfortable. Whoever came up with this concept was brilliant to say the least. I could have paired any shoe with this dress. I was lucky enough to run across this floral number (on clearance) and it said “buy me” of course, LOL… They were the perfect accent to the blue.
I kept with that burst of color in the necklace, bag, earrings and bracelet. It all came together quite nicely 🙂
I would like to thank each of you for your kind words and prayers last week. I was touched beyond measure.
