Sunday Look: Vintage Bloom

Happy Sunday!  OMG guys I had a pretty busy, FUN and awesome weekend.  I was so tired I had to take a nap which is why my post is so late today.  I wore 5 inch heels from six o’clock yesterday evening until 2:30 this morning.  We attended Flavors of Austin fund raiser for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  We had the opportunity to meet some great NFL Legends.  My husband was in his element.  You know we had to partake in the after party!  My feet were so swollen and hurting this morning I could not wear any of my shoes 🙁 . That meant I needed a miracle because I don’t own very many flats 🙁    It took a little while to find something but I prevailed, LOL!

Todays outfit had to serve twofold.  I was going for a vintage look where I could incorporate the sock bootie (because I needed something soft on my feet).  I had this pencil skirt with beautiful floral blooms and a sheer top that was full of blooms as well.  I fell in love with this top because of the gathered elastic sleeves. Even though both pieces had two different textures, they gave me the vintage feel I was hoping to pull off.

In addition to my sock peep toe booties, I accessorized with pearl jewelry keeping with that soft vintage look.

My BAG today was  large cream tote.  Sometimes you just need a big bag to hold all the extra essentials, which I needed to have with me today.

Sunday Look: Choker Neckline Dress & Sheer Cardigan

Happy Sunday!  I’m going to start out by saying I’ve had the “COOLEST” weekend 🙂 .  Yep I enjoyed our cooler temperatures this weekend.  I spent a great deal of time outside this weekend.  It was so nice to put on boots and a turtleneck.  It’s the little things!  LOL.   I know it was short lived but I enjoyed it none the less.  This morning started out pleasant (at least it wasn’t hot) 🙂 .  Which prompted me to today’s outfit.
I chose a short shift dress in a large peony floral print, with a choker neckline and cutout front.   I wore a long sheer cardigan over the dress since it was sleeveless.  Doing so made it a little more dressy and seasonal.  If you haven’t noticed “sheer” dresses, tops and cardigans are trending BIG TIME right now.  This particular cardigan can be worn with jeans, slacks, maxi dress or a jumpsuit.  The possibilities are endless.

Accessorizing was so easy.  The choker neckline meant I didn’t need a necklace.  All I had to do was put on a pair of earrings.  I chose a single cream and black bangle just for kicks.  Black patent leather platform pumps added the finishing touch.

My bag today was a black rippled patent leather tote with a black and gold chain strap.  I’ve said this before, you just know when the bag is right for the outfit.

I’m so happy the season is changing so we can change up our wardrobe. I’m looking forward to wearing my boots (again) and dabbing into the velvet trend.  Stay tuned!

Sunday Look: Floral Print Ruffle Dress

Happy Sunday!  Blessings for another week.  I have to say this past week was rather uneventful.  Although we had the usual Saturday of grand girls sporting events.  It’s still pretty warm and I’m so ready for some cooler weather.  I sound like a broken record I know, I know 🙂 …

I’m also not ready for all those dark muted colors either.  I’d like to think I’m a colorful kind of girl.  I never use to be a fan of floral print.  I purchased a floral dress a couple of years back.  I looked at that dress for a long time.  I liked it, then I didn’t.  I thought it was ugly actually.  But I couldn’t leave it in the store.  When I finally wore it I was in love and have been every since.  Most probably think floral prints are for Spring and Summer months only.  There are some beautiful floral prints of reds, gold, orange and greens that flow well into the Fall and Winter seasons.  I’m already thinking about what I’ll wear in December.  I can’t wait!
Today’s outfit is floral of course LOL.  I was drawn to this dress immediately, I’m not sure if it was the print or all the ruffles.  This dress has an allover floral print, a V-neckline, a waist sash-belt, long sleeves with split ruffle cuffs, and a ruffle hem. Can you get any more girly?  I felt like my youngest grand daughter wanting to twirl.

Last night when figuring out how to style this dress I went through several necklaces.  Whichever necklace I chose would dictate the earrings.  You know pearls were my first choice.  I ultimately decided on this gold multi-tasseled necklace and large loop earrings.   I know pearls go with everything but there was something about this necklace that fit perfectly in the V-neckline, (this necklace was a birthday gift).  I chose to wear a nude patent leather platform heel.  Every nude shoe I tried on worked.  It was all about the color “nude” that paired well with all the colors.

My BAG today was BIG! Sometimes you just now what goes well and what doesn’t.  This “doctor bag” looking handbag with a diamond stitched pattern was a very good choice I think.

Sunday Look: Pastel Pants

Hello, I’m back.  Last week we had a family emergency and spent our Sunday at the hospital with my husband’s mother.  Thankfully she is on the mend.
It’s been a crazy busy week and I needed total comfort in today’s outfit.  Since Spring has sprung I thought I would start out wearing pastels.  I did so in these relaxed floral pants dancing in pastel petals.  I added a light colored pastel blue peplum top.  The top is adorned with a full back zipper.

I accessorized with an ombre blue and black pointy pump and a necklace in the same colors.
My BAG: This is one of the bags I told you about a while back. I mentioned that I was lucky enough to have it in four different colors.  It’s a quilted shoulder bag with partial chain link strap.  I shorten the strap to carry as a handbag instead.

Welcome to the First Sunday in October!  Today I’m taking it to the MAX!!  Maxi dress, big bag and 5 1/2 inch heels (I lined up four different shoes to see which one had the highest heel) giving me the added height I needed for such a long maxi dress.  When you are 5ft. 4in. you have to come up with creative ways to stand tall 😉

The floral skirt and solid black bodice transitions well into a Texas Fall morning.   Later on… I can add a cardigan or denim jacket. “This dress was a steal of a deal”

I accessorized with a belt (to cinch my waist), long tri-color necklace, tri-color earrings, single glass bangle and gold watch.  Today I brought out the BIG BAG, I call this one my “doctor bag”…xo

Hello everyone!  Another HOT day here in Texas.  Its getting kind of difficult to find an outfit that’s cool.  My attempt to do just that, this soft chiffon “Maxi” dress that I haven’t worn in a couple of years. (it still fit 🙂 )  The floral detail and spaghetti straps are fitting for the season.  I could have accessorized with pearls but I didn’t…  Today’s accessory “WOOD” I paired it with wood earrings, mixed wood and wire necklace and wood bracelet.  My bag even had a touch of wood.  This was a very, very simple outfit to put together.  FASHION should be effortless…..   I enjoy shopping in my closet how about you?

Greetings! Happy Sunday to all… Today’s outfit is pretty simple and tight LOL. I’m a fan of the pencil skirts because they really give you a BUTT. I LOVE this one even if I had to take “baby steps”. It’s a skinny pencil skirt! My peplum top helped to accentuate my curves and it’s the perfect top to wear with a pencil skirt.
To top it all off, I chose a matching necklace and earrings. Black fringe shoes added the WOW factor and pulled it all together.
Style Tip: A fitted peplum with emphasis on the cinched waist doesn’t hide curves but instead accentuates them nicely. On the other hand, if you’d like to make the hips look a bit larger, the flared version may be the best choice, since it will suggest a more hourglass style figure.

Flower Power
Happy Sunday!  Everything is so pretty and green after the rain.  So I took full advantage.  Today I tapped into my girly side by choosing this very colorful floral print dress. Floral prints are very on trend for Spring. No matter your lifestyle, florals work.  Even though I wore this to church, I can also wear it to the office, out to dinner and to a wedding.  I don’t have a lot of floral prints in my wardrobe but I really like this one. You know when you first see something you say “nah” but after that second look you say “yah” I like it. Well that was me on this one… 🙂
I just love how it blows in the wind. SO GIRLY!  I kept the shoes fairly neutral. Why? The dress can stand on its own. I paired it with a simple necklace and earrings.

Good-bye SUMMER… it’s the last weekend of summer.   In keeping with the summer         season and temperatures, my “outfit of the day” is right on time. This sleeveless floral print dress was a great way to end the season don’t you think?

Surprised by my shoe choice? I could have chosen a much brighter shoe but I wanted the dress to be the main attraction.  My accessories are quite simple, pearl earrings and necklace.  Threw on some bangles and I’m done 🙂

Stay tuned, it’s pretty safe to say you haven’t seen the last of color from me.  Remember, we are in Texas 😉  There is BEAUTI in everything, find it…

Happy Sunday.  Today I thought I would give off my Stepford Wives Look :-)…  Keeping with my bright colors and floral print, this dress is a throw back of several years.  It still looks as if I    purchased it yesterday.  The necklace I’m wearing was a gift from my daughter and I happen to have the earrings and watch in my     jewelry box already, (the perfect pair).   Summer is almost coming to an end (31 days to be exact)  I’m going to miss all the cheerful bright colors… “There is BEAUTI in everything, find it”…
