Sunday Look: Summer Ending Transition

Happy Sunday!  It’s hard to believe Summer is winding down with today being the last Sunday of the Summer season, YAY !  Transition mode is always on my mind every year this time.  We can easily hold onto Summer a little longer around here.  Lucky for us, we have the best of both Summer and Fall.  This is how I choose to transition my wardrobe…
Today I wore an off-the-shoulder mesh top adorned with pink satin ribbon around the bodice and arms. Notice the two little bows made from the same ribbon. This top is older, yet on trend.   You know what I always say,  “A woman’s shoulders is the most beautiful part of her body”  I  simply ♥ adore ♥ this look!  I paired the top with a pleated lined (lace) skirt.  The two make a fabulous fit and flare look.

Style Tip :  To make this into a FORMAL look; simply add a long maxi skirt.  It could be a long pencil skirt or a long fit and flare skirt.  Both would complete a formal look.
A choker is the perfect (jewelry) accessory for off-the-shoulder clothing.  I wore a very simple black choker and black earrings consisting of multiple baubles.  By far the quickest and easiest jewelry accessory choice.   A pointy toe black pump said “wear me”. It didn’t take much convincing 🙂 .

Today’s handbag was a fun clutch made to look like a camera with a playful bow attached to the zipper.  Perfect right? 😉 .

I’m looking forward to all your style transitions, so excited for the change.

Sunday Look: Perfect Little Summer Dress

Happy Sunday and welcome to Summer 🙁 !  As we forge ahead in this Summer heat, I’m doing my best to keep it cool.  Today’s outfit does just that…

I purposely picked up a couple of these fit and flare dresses just for Summer.  The light weight cotton fabric is a must for a 100° day.  Another good thing about this dress, you can dress it up or down. Oh! I almost forgot, it has pockets 🙂 . Today I dressed it up with dramatic accessories.  For starters, I chose a multi-strand necklace that fits so nicely in the v-neckline.  I added a pair of bauble earrings in a brushed metal color of gold, silver and rose gold.  I couldn’t believe how well the metal paired with the dress color.  I chose a high heel cork pump that picked up on the colors as well.  The off white tip adds that touch dressy.

Now, if I went the casual route, I would omit the necklace and replace the heels with a pair of white or cream colored thong sandals.
My BAG today, keeping with the current straw trend, I chose a small straw clutch with a wrist strap.  It went so well with the entire outfit.  Love ♥ when that happens.

Searching for ways to stay a little cooler this summer?  You should choose light colors and light weight fabrics 😉 .

Sunday Look: Dot, Dot, Dots

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Hope you all had a great week and did something fun.  You know, I had this idea that I wanted a new dress, I haven’t purchased one in a while.  Instead of going out for a new dress I decided to shop my closet.  There is always something new (even if I’ve had it for a couple of years) hiding with the tags still on it.
Today’s outfit a black and white fit and flare pleated dress with a solid black bodice and tons of black dots.  I’m pretty sure that was the attraction.  I actually played with this black and white theme a bit.   I had the option of a black shawl in case I got cold.  It looked really cute draped with the necklace.  I wasn’t cold therefore I didn’t need it.  Just an option other than the usual cardigan for those that feel uncomfortable being sleeveless for various reasons.

Speaking of twists, I love pompoms and pompom clip-ons, they can make a boring shoe pop!  I tried something a little different by wearing one each of the black and white pompom.  Totally outside the box and a fun addition.

I’m in love with this black and white pearl beaded necklace.  It’s always a conversation piece whenever I wear it.  I thought it paired well with the dress.  I also wore black and white round earrings.  I wanted to do something other than pearls.  I also added bangles on each arm.  I felt really put together in this outfit.  Black and White is so classic it’s hard to get it wrong.

My BAG today was an all white (chanel inspired) handbag trimmed in chain link.

I never talk much about make-up.  Today I went with a red lip and a smoky eye.  I like it you guys!

Don’t be afraid to step outside the box every now and then.  You just might like it 😉 !

Sunday Look: Little Black Dress Fit-and-Flare

Happy Sunday!  It’s hard to believe this week will mark the beginning of the holiday season.  I’m not completely ready 🙂 .  Are you?
This morning when it came time to get dressed I pulled out something blue.  Then I remembered I wore blue last week.  I’m sometimes drawn to the same color week after week. I wonder what that means? Anyway, I put that to the side for another time.  I finally ended up in this sleeveless black fit-and-flare dress.

This dress has a beautifully textured fabric with the perfect V-neckline. There is something about the fit-and-flare dress that’s flirty and fun! (Not that I was trying to be) 😉 .  You can bet this holiday season’s “little black dress” is likely to be a soignee version of fit-and-flare.

The neckline is so inviting for the perfect necklace. And I just happened to have the perfect one!  As you can see this multi beaded pearl statement necklace fills in the space nicely.  I chose shoes in a black velvet (trending) with a round toe and bow.  I also added a pearl drop earring and two-toned bangle.

My bag today was my “bug bag” that’s what I call it because it has a big bug on the front.  It’s such a fun piece for any outfit.

I’m excited for the holidays and looking forward to the most “Wonderful time of the Year” I can’t wait to see what everyone will be wearing.

Sunday Social: Autumn Hues

 sunday-10-23-stitch
Happy Sunday!  If I must say so myself, time is really flying.  We will be preparing for Thanksgiving before we know it.
My morning dress rehearsal started off with a blazer and skirt.  I quickly changed my mind thinking I would be too warm in a blazer.  This time of year I look forward to wearing all the “Autumn Hues”.  I purchased this dress a couple of years ago.  It fit, then it didn’t, now it fits again!  Perfect timing to take advantage of the “fit”.  As you can see in the photos this dress is very versatile.  I can go from Church to the Pumpkin Patch with one simple change from high heels to cowboy boots.  I get excited when I can wear an outfit a second time with a completely different look.  I think I will hit the Pumpkin Patch this week with the grand girls.

Sunday Social: Grey & Blue Pinstripe Fit-and-Flare

sunday-16th

Hello everyone!  Remember last week I said we had a wedding to attend today following church.  Beautiful wedding.  Little did I know it was going to be OUTSIDE.  I knew beforehand it was casual.  I chose a dress that I thought would work for both church and a casual wedding.   Normally one would not wear linen in Fall but this is Texas, it was in the 80’s. My body says it’s still Summer no matter the season.  There was a lady sitting next to me and she said: “I knew we were going to be outside so I wore my summer dress” (she had on a rayon black, white and yellow dress) I told her “we live in Texas, those rules don’t apply”.  Some were wearing shorts (smart)!  The bride and her bridesmaids were barefoot, what does that tell ya? LOL.
By the time I got around to taking photos I was completely melted 🙂 .   Like linen does, it wrinkles.  Like I said, I was melting LOL.
I wanted to have a bit of bling,  I wore a multi-stone statement necklace.  Added small earrings, a single bangle and silver watch.  My BAG today is  “old” wait until you see who it’s by.  Since I was attending a wedding I wanted something small with sparkle to compliment my casual dress.  It’s ok to mix and match dressy and casual whenever and however you like.  Who likes to wear shredded jeans and sparkly high heels? ME! 😉

Well, today is the last Sunday of Summer. (Even though nothing will be changing for a while 🙁 )  Last year I ended the last Sunday of Summer in floral print. Today’s summer finale, this Ice Blue, box pleated, fit and flare sleeveless dress.  To my surprise it even has pockets! Notice the embellished boat neckline which I’m usually not a fan.  I normally remove them (if I can) because they can look cheap especially on a dress that’s NOT cheap.  But this one made the cut, no pun intended LOL!
Even though summer ends this week on the 22nd, that doesn’t mean we have to put away ALL of our summer attire.  Some things can take us well into Fall especially if you live in Texas.  So do your best to keep cool as we transition.. wear whatever you like…
Let’s  talk accessories; I chose a watercolor print pointed toe pump ♥ that pointed toe.   Added a bold pearl like bracelet and pearl & clear stone combination earrings.  THE BAG… today I chose this cream box clutch with gold beads.  LVE MY BAGS…
