Sunday Look: Trench Dress

Hello! Hope you guys are well in addition to being safe in the mist of Covid!  We’v all managed to stay well, praise God for his blessings.  Quite a bit has happened since I last blogged.  Mainly, one of our granddaughters left for college.  When I tell you I was so emotional the night before she left (we celebrated her 18th birthday) and the day of.  I didn’t know I had that many tears.  I miss that little face already.  I’m proud of her accomplishments. Literally counting the days until I see her again. Let me stop before I start crying again… we also celebrated the baby granddaughter’s birthday too!
Have you ever purchased something and forgot about it? Of course you have.  I’m notorious for doing so.  I purchased this dress three or four months ago.  Somehow it hit me, “where is that dress”.  In the back of my mind, I’m wondering, will it still fit.
It’s a very simple wrap trench dress.  Linen fabric and lined, accessorized very simply.  Sometimes simple is enough.  No pockets, which was the first thing I searched for.  I (we) love pockets don’t we 🙂 .   I also love Linen, but once the wrinkles set in, they make a crisp clean look go from good to, well you know…  But, that’s the nature of the fabric.

We made a stop at a nearby park on the way home.  I wasn’t planning on doing a Blog post today.  I thought I would get one pic and move on.  Well, my photographer had other ideas.  I had to do something with the pics.  We were fortunate enough to get a picture together today.  Yes we match!   We also played good samaritan, we found someone’s money clip and returned it to them. Today was a good day 🙂

Sunday Look: Ruffle Square Neck Jumpsuit

Hey guys! A little MIA the last couple of weeks after I said I was hoping to do regular Blog Posts.  All I want to do is get out of my clothes after I finish lunch.  We always have lunch or brunch immediately after church.  By the time I get home it’s hard to take a photo sometimes 😉 .
This past week we celebrated our daughters 36th birthday.  Her celebrations turn into full blown outings.  We celebrated in our normal (family) fashion with food and fun!   It was nice to see the family all dressed up!
The Birthday Girl and I
Todays outfit was fitting for backyard photos.  All I need to do is take off the heels and I’m ready to lounge by the pool.  Everything is so colorful and I enjoy looking at Gods creations.

I chose this black jumpsuit with thin straps  and wide legs.  It has pockets!  It’s linen and viscose of course,  you know me and linen in the summertime.  I love this mix of linen and viscose it doesn’t wrinkle as much.
(This jumpsuit runs large, I would size down if you plan on purchasing)

I was excited to accessorize with a matching set of earrings and ring I recently purchased.  It paired well with the black.
My bag today was a black monogram tote.

Sunday Look: Happy New Year

Image result for happy new year 2020"

Happy New Year! Wow, 2020 can you believe it?  Out with the old and in with the new.  Unfortunately I ended my year with the Flu.  I missed Christmas, my favorite holiday of the year.  We weren’t able to get our normal family Christmas Eve photo either.  I was looking forward to showing off our matching shirts.  I want a do-over!  I also missed the last Sunday of the year too 🙁 .   Nothing was going to stop me from celebrating the first Sunday of the year/new decade.

This happens to be my birthday week as well.  I’m so excited for Wednesday, turning 59!  I’m hoping my heath holds and I get to celebrate my way.  Time to start planning for the big 60…Image result for 59"

Today’s look was rather simple.  This is the dress I planned on wearing last Sunday (hence the pop of RED).  This dress reminds me of something out of the sixties.  All I needed was Go-Go Boots and a hair flip.  I chose it for the pop of red. Simple, yet  cute.

Accessorizing was easy, again. I kept it simple by wearing black earrings and black necklace.  I saved the additional pops of red for my shoes and handbag.

Speaking of my BAG, is this not the cutest RED box bag?  A little gift to myself.  I love the faux reptile print look.  It’s Vegan!

Sunday Look: Holiday Red “Plaid Palazzo Pants”

Image result for christmas border free"

Hello Happy Sunday! Only a few more days until Christmas, are we ready?  I still need to grocery shop for Christmas dinner and the dreaded wrapping, UGH!  I am looking forward to our annual family Christmas Eve get-together.   I love making memories for our grandgirls.  Be sure to watch my FB page to see what matching outfits we chose this year.

In addition to my Sunday Look, I want to share a few of my holiday decorations.  I love sprucing up the house  for the holidays.

Today’s look kept with my Holiday RED theme.  I decided to incorporate plaid into the mix.  Plaid is very popular for Christmas.  I chose a pair of high waisted palazzo pants paired with a black long sleeve blouse with a twisted keyhole neck.  Sometimes I wish I were a little bit taller.  I had to have about six inches cut off the bottom of these pants.  Thank goodness for high heels.

This entire Holiday Season, I’ve only needed a necklace once. This makes styling my outfits so easy. Today I only wore red rhinestone earrings. I chose a two-toned heel in red and cream.

My BAG today matched my shoes. I don’t normally match my shoes and bag.  Since I had them both, why not!

Finally, I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have a safe and happy holiday with your families.

Sunday Social: Mock Smock Top Dress (Featuring Thanksgiving Tablescape)

Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  Ours was great.  Even though Thanksgiving wears me out, I love this time of year and I’m so thankful to have all my family together.  I decided to share a few photos of my Thanksgiving tablescape.  I thought it turned out beautifully.  Setting the table reminds me of my childhood when my mother would set her table for Thanksgiving.  It’s my hope that down the road my grand girls will keep the tradition going as they enter into their adult lives with a family. Enjoy!

Now, as we transition into full bloom “Christmas Holiday Season Image result for christmas tree images clip art
I thought I would start it off in black and white.  This mock smock top dress gives the illusion of being a two-piece but its actually all one piece. I love the  fit, very slimming.  You can never go wrong with black and white, its timeless and makes for a classy look.
If it had been COLD here (wishful thinking) I could have easily worn a (black) turtle neck or collared blouse underneath.  The round neck of the dress is perfect for a turtle neck or collar type top.  Maybe I will be able to do that at some point this coming Winter.
I didn’t want to add a lot of accessories (which I did) but they were very understated pieces. I chose two beaded bracelets and a matching necklace and earring set.
My BAG:  You all know by now how much I LOVE handbags.  This one is no different.  When I saw it I was like “OMG” that is so cute all the while passing it up.  You know what happened next, I hightailed it back around and picked it up.  A girl can never have too many black bags or any handbag for that matter.  What I like about this one is the round shape and it has fringe! 🙂 I thought it was the perfect final touch to my outfit.

Sunday Social: Blue Suede Dress

sunday-11-20

Happy Sunday…. and I say that with a cool smile if you know what I mean.  Let me tell you, we had a temporary cool snap and I LOVED it!

Last night as I was trying to decide what today’s outfit would be,  I was a bit perplexed.  Being a “hot box” and since it was a tad bit cooler I felt some type of way about going sleeveless.  This blue suede dress was middle ground.  Just enough sleeve for the current tempature.  I knew I wanted to wear boots, I’ve been itching to do so.  Why not right?  As strange as it may seem I also opted for hosiery, I only wore them for a more finished look between the boots and dress.  I wasn’t feeling my bare legs.  Yall know I have some skinny legs (but I have crazy calf muscles, weird I know) and I needed something to fill in the boots 🙂 🙂 LOL!

My accessories needed to make a statement, so I went a little bold with the necklace which served dual purpose . It lit up the dark blue dress and complimented my boots.  My BAG,  I chose this rectangular clutch with a woven pattern.

STYLE TIP: As the temperatures drop be sure to bring out the leather, suede and the latest trend VELVET, yes velvet is all the craze right now!  I only have a couple of pieces.  Sounds like a good reason to go shopping! 😉 .

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, enjoy your family and friends… xo

Sunday Social: Relaxed in Black

Happy Sunday… Greetings everyone!  Last week was busy, busy.  We celebrated two birthdays, my son and grand daughter number three.
My husband and I went out on a date Friday night to hear Aaron Neville. Afterwards we had a sushi dinner then we did a little late night partying 😉 Friday night photos ⇓

Needless to say I’m a bit worn out.  Today’s outfit was all about comfort.  “Relaxed in Black” is exactly how I felt.  My top is very comfortable. It’s loose fitting, double layered with lace cuffs.  I paired it with a pair of tuxedo slacks, pretty simple.  I accessorized with dangly white pearl earrings and a necklace.  My BAG: a shiny black and silver clutch.
There is nothing basic about “BLACK”.  It can be played up or down and will never go out of style. As they say black is… “CLASSIC”

Sunday Social: Plaid Shirt Dress

plaid

Happy First Sunday!  Finally, we may be experiencing  a touch of Fall weather.  That brings me to today’s outfit “Plaid Shirt Dress”.  Fall speaks a lot of things, one being PLAID… Just about every designer has a plaid piece in their collection.   I took a simple shirt dress and played it up with a wide belt and suede pointy high heels.  One thing for sure, this dress will look equally as great with a pair of booties or any other type of boots.  Don’t forget the flats! Honestly, just about any shoe will work.  This dress also has size zippers, you can unzip and pair with leggings for another great look!
I chose to button the dress all the way to the neck.  By doing so I was able to take a simple necklace and make it look like a “bolo”.  I kept my jewelry to a minimum.  My BAG, well it speaks for itself.  That’s it for today!  Enjoy what’s left of the weekend.  I’ve got a pretty busy week ahead, we have two family birthdays to celebrate.   Enjoy and get some PLAID in you life…  😉  .  DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!!!!

Sunday Social: Pink, Purple & Pearls

sunday-10-30

Happy Sunday. Today was “Women’s Day” at Church. The guest speaker, She was AWESOME!!  Our colors “Pink, Purple & Pearls” .   I’ve known about this day for a few months now.  Why was I so baffled as to what I was going to wear?  For starters, I only have about two or three items in my wardrobe that’s pink.  That’s one color you will hardly ever see me wear.  Over the summer I wore a pink crop pant that’s about it.  I must confess, I did go shopping for something Pink, but to no avail…  I think its just the time of year.  Thank goodness PURPLE was in the mix.  No, I did not purchase a new dress.  This one is VERY OLD like six years or so.  The majority of the women today wore PURPLE (whew)!
Part of this theme (PINK) was for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Last year was Blue with Pink Flower.  I recycled the flower into my belt since I needed a little more “PINK“.  The Pearls part was easy.  Every girl has a strand or two of pearls in her jewelry box.  If you don’t, you should run out and get a strand.  One thing about Pearls, they’re versatile… you can wear them with anything from jeans to a formal.  So there you have it! Wear your “PEARLS” LOL….
Most of today’s accessories were Pearls.  My BAG was a iridescent pink hue fold clutch!  Pretty simple, the cause, GRAND…  Breast Cancer Awareness (click here)

Sunday Social: Autumn Hues

 sunday-10-23-stitch
Happy Sunday!  If I must say so myself, time is really flying.  We will be preparing for Thanksgiving before we know it.
My morning dress rehearsal started off with a blazer and skirt.  I quickly changed my mind thinking I would be too warm in a blazer.  This time of year I look forward to wearing all the “Autumn Hues”.  I purchased this dress a couple of years ago.  It fit, then it didn’t, now it fits again!  Perfect timing to take advantage of the “fit”.  As you can see in the photos this dress is very versatile.  I can go from Church to the Pumpkin Patch with one simple change from high heels to cowboy boots.  I get excited when I can wear an outfit a second time with a completely different look.  I think I will hit the Pumpkin Patch this week with the grand girls.
