Sunday Look: A Summer Like Fall

Hello and Happy Sunday! I told myself a few weeks ago that I would wait until Fall for my next Blog Post. Well, Fall is here yet it still feels like summer. I would be hard pressed to wear anything other than cool clothing. Come on Fall weather, I’ll wait….

Now that Labor Day has passed don’t be surprised if you still see me wearing white. I don’t follow that age old rule. Do you?

I seem to be on a yellow kick here lately. You know how they say “that’s your color” I think its mine. It gives me a certain glow 🙂 .

Looks from the past few weeks….

Yellow & Black (Sept 8, 2019)
Dress: Michael Kors, Bag: A New Day
Living My Life Like It’s Golden (Sep 15, 2019)
Dress: Gianni Bini, Bag: Louis Vuitton, Shoes: Vince Camuto
End of Summer Sashay in Chambray (Sep 22, 2019)
Dress: Banana Republic, Bag: Tory Burch, Shoes: Steve Madden

Today’s outfit is my third yellow look this month. It wasn’t planned, I never know what I’m going to wear ahead of time.

Today I’m wearing a cotton linen blend, tiered A-line maxi dress. In yellow of course. Again not planned. I was actually trying to be cool, no pun intended 😉 .

Can we talk about the ELEPHANT in the room LOL, LOL… When I tell you this necklace was an attention grabber from the moment I stepped into the doors of the church. And to think I almost didn’t purchase this necklace. I had second thoughts this morning too. Now I love it! It certainly made a statement. I finished the accessories with gold drop loop earrings and a gold bracelet. My trusty cork texture high heel sandals always comes through in a pinch. After-all who wants to wear closed toe shoes after having a new coat of polish on their toes? Honestly, they really pair well with yellow.

My BAG today was another trusty accessory I can always count on. Everyone should invest in a wood/bamboo handbag. It can be carried in all seasons.

Sunday Look: Chambray Floral Lace

Hello and Happy first Sunday. Last week was very busy. I had so much running around to do, all while trying to stay cool and look professional at the same time. I plan on living in light weight (professional) clothing. I’m looking for anything that has holes in it 🙂 .

Speaking of holes, today’s outfit had to be extra special. I was part of the Church program for our Graduation Service. This feminine dress is cast in floral lace and floral appliques with a flirty flounce hem and an attached lining for full coverage.  The perfect choice for daytime affairs, night time and church of course. This is the dress I told you about a couple of weeks ago. Remember, I requested a large and the sales clerk pulled me an extra large. What do you think, do I need an extra large? NO !!!!!! The large fit nicely.

The neck of this dress is so pretty and detailed with the floral appliques I couldn’t cover that up. I chose necklace with a longer chain. You can still see the beautiful neckline. I wore a turquoise, triangle shaped earring that went well with both the necklace and dress. I pulled out the lining color by wearing a pointy toe, high heel shoe in the same color. When I purchased this dress, I knew exactly what shoe I was going to wear. When you know, you know!

Why not throw a fun handbag in the mix. I felt my bamboo ark bag went nicely and added some additional texture. One of my favorite handbags to carry!

Happy Sunday… Today outfit was another attempt to be cool and comfortable. I chose this Chambray top and linen pants.  This is the first time I’ve paired the two together.  At first glance you might say that’s denim, but it’s not…  Chambray and denim are often confused for one another, there’re not exactly the same fabric.  Interesting fabric tip!
As you recall from past posts, I Love Linen (not the wrinkles though) LOL!  Linen is the perfect summer fabric and we are in the heat of SUMMER!
The two different fabrics work well together.  No harm in experimenting… you never know until you try!
I always like to play of my neck with a bold piece of jewelry especially is my outfit isn’t speaking for itself.  I’ve worn this necklace before.  The earrings are new and matched the necklace perfectly.
Keep cool if you can… until next time…
