Sunday Look: Military Blue

Greeting to another Sunday.  As the season changes (especially in Texas) how does one dress for a cool start and somewhat of a warm finish.  Layers. Dressing in layers can help with the quickly changing temperatures.

Today’s outfit is a take on the layered effect.  The “military” inspired design with a feminine turn in a long tailored jacket, adorned with polished goldtone buttons.  Under the jacket is a sleeveless shell.  This allows me to remove my jacket if needed.  I paired the two with a crop straight legged pant.  All in the color “BLUE“.   I love this look, it’s very comfortable and stylish at the same time.  You may be thinking why all blue?  First of all, I love the functionality (military look) of it all.   If I were to remove the jacket I would still have a cohesive look.

My jewelry accessories played off the shape and goldtone buttons.  I purposely wore gold earrings, necklace and bracelet.  It really set off the look.   I kept with the blue in my shoes as well.   The patent leather blue gave that shine you see on military personnel for a totally finished look.

My BAG, a square, blue leather handbag trimmed in gold.  The square shape of the handbag made the entire outfit look official 😉 .

Fashion should be FUN. Have fun in your look , OWN IT !

Sunday Look: Roses are Blue…Baby Doll Dress

Happy Sunday!  What a difference it makes when you can get a full day of rest.  Yesterday I did absolutely nothing (except decorate my dining room table for Thanksgiving). Other than that we had a free weekend, the grand girls were sports free.  I should be well rested.  Late last night I decided to try on outfits for today.  Well, this morning I changed my mind 🙂 .  Luckily for me all I did was grab and go!  Which leads me to today’s outfit.

Roses are Blue is what I’m calling this dress.  I have to admit I fell in Love with this dress right away.  Wait until you see where I purchased it from down below.  All I have to say is “you make the clothes, the clothes don’t make you”.
The look of vintage in the mesh (I told you its trending)™. This mesh dress makes for a sultry look, while the embroidered flowers add sweet, feminine detail. The thin, mesh material and delicate flowers come together for a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted look.  This dress turned heads LOL… It would be perfect for your next dinner party or night out.

I kept the accessories really simple. Notice, no necklace, really didn’t need one at all. Just the right amount of skin peeks through the mesh.  Black earrings, sparkly bracelet and ring did the rest.  The dress can easily stand for itself.  I chose an ombre patent leather shoe in blue and black.  I heard someone say the other day that ombre is out ( I think they were talking about hair though).  Anyway, I beg to differ.  I like it and I wore it 😉 .

My BAG today was fairly simple.  I chose a long blue clutch that felt so right for this outfit.  I did try three others but this one was perfect.

Like I said before, you make the clothes the clothes don’t make you!  I wear what I like and you should too!  Don’t get me wrong, I love a designer piece. But everything doesn’t have to be $$$ for you to look good or feel good.

Sunday Look: Shades of Blue

Happy Sunday!  Each week we get closer to our summer coming to an end.  I still have so many (summer) things I would like to wear, but I feel like I’m running out of time especially with Labor Day right around the corner 🙂 .  This morning after trying on a few different outfits I decided on this ribbed country blue sheath dress with attached belt and side slits.

I accessorized with hints of pink and different shades of blue.  My necklace actually had two different shades of pink and blue and hints of white.  My earrings picked up one of the pink colors in the necklace.  Instead of my normal jewelry I mixed it up by wearing pink fashion rings on each hand. I chose an open toe block heel shoe in blue as well.  You might think, that’s a lot of blue.  It is, but it isn’t, the different shades of blue helped to break things up.   And by adding pink, that broke up the blue even more.  NO RULES…

My BAG was also blue 🙂 . I’ve carried this bag before and I still love all the heavy chain trim and quilted detail.  Like last time I shorten the strap to carry as a handbag instead of a shoulder-bag.

Happy Sunday! I took last week off from my usual post of “Sunday Social”.  My husband and I decided to take advantage of the long weekend and took a mini vacation to San Antonio, one of our favorite cities.

As I prepare to transition into fall, I will always have Black & White in my wardrobe.  Some think that wearing white after Labor Day is a fashion faux pas… not true at all.
It all depends on how you wear it.

Today’s outfit is simple and classic.  Black & White is so versatile that you can pair it with any color.  I chose BLUE”…  mainly my shoes, necklace and bag.  My earrings have a combination of black, white, yellow and blue.  My latest obsession are these colorful glass bracelets that I purchased while in San Antonio.  Well paired.
