Sunday Look: Year End Glitter & New Year’s Eve Glamour

Happy New Year’s Eve!  2017 is almost out of here…  What a year!  We are so blessed to see another year, for that I am thankful.
This is the last blog post of 2017,  I spent last night thinking how I would end this last Sunday of the year.  I put a lot of thought into each outfit I wear, whether it’s dressing for a specific holiday or season.  It’s all planned out each week, well most weeks 😉 .  I enjoy bringing you my looks each week and I hope you enjoy them too.
None of this would be possible without the support of my husband.  He takes all my photos without a single complaint.  I’m so fortunate to have him support my hobby 🙂 .

                                                           The Man behind the camera!

I felt the need to end the year in a little glitz.  Today’s outfit features a little glitter by way of this one-button glitter dot boyfriend blazer. The sleek look of the blazer paired with a straight leg crop pant makes for a polished look.  The one -button blazer meant I had to add a top.  I added a simple shell in the same color keeping the look sleek.

This outfit was very easy to accessorize.  The gold glitter certainly called for a chunky gold chain.  I added gold dangling earrings to the mix and finished the look with a watch, gold bangles and a gold pointy toe shoe.
BABY it was COLD outside today.  I wore a neon yellow/green wool coat and black gloves.

My BAG today was an oldie, a simple rectangular clutch in gold added the old school glamour making this look classic.

Tonight as we count down to 2018, my husband and I will ring it in with a party for two.  We rarely go out for New Years Eve.  Staying home provides a safe and comfortable environment for us.  Now don’t get me wrong, we dress up for our party of two.  Tonight I’m wearing a long cream colored gown with a sequence bodice and long taffeta skirt. We will be sipping champagne till 2018.  However you choose to celebrate, please be safe and please, please don’t drink and drive.  See  you back here in 2018. While you’re at it, give me a like on this post 🙂 .

Sunday Look: Christmas Ball Skirt & Trumpet Cuffs

Happy Christmas Eve… Who else is excited to celebrate the wonder of his LOVE.  I will keep todays post short.  I have so much to do for our family’s annual Christmas Eve Party.  It’s almost time to put on our PJ’s and veg out!  We always have so much fun.  I wonder what the grand girls will do this year.

Today’s outfit although it’s not all red like I’ve done the past few Sunday’s,  I’m still festive.  Wearing my red, black and green sheer mesh knit bodysuit featuring an allover floral print, a round neckline, long sleeves with trumpet cuffs.  I’ve paired it with my all-time favorite ball skirt with loose pleats and pockets.  I adore this skirt so much.  It really dresses up any top you could pair with it.  Most of all the RED screams CHRISTMAS !!!

I’m keeping my accessories minimal. I’m wearing earrings in a deep red gemstone with matching necklace.   I couldn’t resist wearing these red pointy toe suede pumps with a bow detail. I even threw on a pair of stockings ( thigh highs) 😉 .

My BAG today is a sparkle of sequence.  It’s the finishing touch for the entire outfit.

I just love this time of year.  Everyone is so loving, giving and all is sparkling.
Until next time, Merry Christmas you all!

Sunday Look: Pearls At Christmas Time

Happy Sunday! It’s hard to believe we are one week away from Christmas Eve and the most exciting day of the year Christmas! I can feel the excitement in the air.  Especially after today’s church service.  It was our annual Christmas Play, “A Hallelujah Christmas”.
Here I go again in RED 😉 .  I just can’t resist wearing red for the Holidays.  There is something about RED and the Christmas Holiday Season… After all, its the most wonderful time of the year 🙂 …  Everything is twinkling and glowing!

Today’s dress, a scoop neck chiffon overlay maxi dress belted, side slits and back zipper. The three-quarter sleeves are just right for the season.  I chose the best accessory from my jewelry wall, “Pearls”  The multiple strands of pearls elevate the look to elegance.  My shoes fashioned in a sleek patent finish, pointed toe and tall stiletto heel in two-toned red and cream.

My BAG, a small clutch that matched my shoes.  I don’t usually do matchy, matchy, but this worked!

Time to get out there and finish shopping, start wrapping and preparing the Christmas dinner!

Sunday Look: Holiday Stripes

See the source imageHappy Sunday!  This past week was very interesting.  The most exciting thing, SNOW, yes snow!  Everyone including myself was so excited.  Snow is not something we see very often, especially not before Christmas.  It really made it feel like the  HOLIDAYS!  It’s all gone now 🙁 and the temperatures, well… 🙁 ! See the source image

See the source imageIn keeping with the Christmas season I felt like incorporating red into my wardrobe again this week (it’s my favorite color in case you didn’t know).  I was feeling brave by wearing this form fitting  sweater dress.  But there was something about it that spoke HOLIDAY to me.  The red and back stripes has a woven line of sparkle in-between each stripe.  I was surprised at how form fitting it was and felt like it needed a belt.  Instead of a traditional belt, I tied a wide black ribbon in a bow around my waist, that really changed the entire look.

I accessorized with long faux diamond earrings, long necklace and bangles.  Instead of wearing a red shoe I opted for black pointy toe RED BOTTOMS instead 😉 .

My (old) little black velvet handbag added that extra holiday sparkle from the two little rhinestone bling medallions.   Even though this bag is very old, it still fits todays fashion trends.  Never get rid of your handbags!  They could make a fashion comeback years later, Okay!

Style Tip: ⇓
Another way to style this dress, add a pair of boots and floppy hat!  Next time…

Holiday Party Attire

Tis the Season for those Holiday Parties… what are you going to wear?
Office holiday parties vary from business casual to dressy to formal. You want to be prepared for either. Hopefully this simple guide will help you achieve that perfect look. I get asked all the time ‘What should I wear to my holiday party?” Well it depends on the PARTY right!
Office parties that are held in the office during or after work tend to be business casual, you will be celebrating in what you actually wore to work. This is probably one of the easiest parties to dress for. On that day you can add a festive scarf, holiday pin or dress in traditional holiday colors of Red, Green, Black, Silver and Gold or any combination. You can also wear a holiday sweater (nothing ugly or obnoxious) but something softer like cashmere or with a little holiday sparkle.
Parties that take place outside the office usually mean you should step it up a bit. Although, they can still be business casual depending on the company vibes. More than likely its going to be a little bit dressier than an on-site office party.
The style of the announcement will usually let you know whether its casual, dressy, semi-formal or formal. Just be prepared.

We all know if the invitation reads dressy, semi-formal or formal attire you need to look your best.  Depending on your wardrobe you may have something in your closet that you can wear. Men a dark suit and tie will do just fine. Ladies if you have a little black dress or even a long black dress, you’re set. You can jazz it up with fabulous accessories that sparkle and shine. Easy right?
Formal attire usually calls for something long but not necessarily. Todays fashion has an array of short formal dresses, pantsuits and jumpsuits that will fit the occasion just fine. All you need to know… you shouldn’t wear jeans, tee-shirt, flip-flops or tennis shoes right? It’s all about elegance… And there is no need to break the bank!
Here are a some of my past and present “Holiday” looks ….

Sunday Look: Floral Holiday

Happy Sunday!  Here we go, its officially HOLIDAY TIME…  We have been busy trying to get the inside and outside all decked out for the holidays.  The only thing missing is the COOLER weather.  How are your decorating plans going?
Last December I opted to wear RED each Sunday to church.  I really didn’t make that commitment this year but somehow I started out in red again.  Today’s outfit featuring this all over floral maxi with a self-tie halter neck and elastic off-the-shoulder. This elastic is formed so you can wear it two ways.  If you prefer to wear it further up-on the shoulders you can (like in the feature photo at top).  I truly love the off-the-shoulder look.  I’ve said it many times, “a woman’s shoulders is the most beautiful feature on her body”.

When you have a self-tie halter neck there is no need for a necklace.  This girl is never without her earrings. I wore a pair with a sequence look detail.  You know me, I must always have a bangle or three LOL 😉 .  Today I had six!  Since I’m not very tall, every MAXI is way too long.  I always have to wear really high heel shoes so it doesn’t drag the ground.  Today I wore a black patent leather platform sling back with a 5 inch heel.  I bet you’re saying, “5 inches”.  Here’s a little secret, platforms can reduce the heel height by 2 inches sometimes.  So it feels like I was really wearing 3 inch heels 😉 .

What’s the perfect bag to carry when wearing a MAXI of this type?  A magazine clutch is what, nothing went better!  It’s very unexpected wouldn’t you say?
