Sunday Look: Relaxed Neutral Territory

Happy Sunday everyone!  Another beautiful winter day in Texas.

Today’s look is a little more relaxed than normal.  I love the neutral look especially “winter white”.  It’s such a crisp relaxed look and one that can be worn in all seasons.  I chose simple straight leg slacks and a sleeveless top with a turtle neck.  The look really pops when you add a second color to the mix.  I did that by adding a long cardigan with two neutral colors.  It doesn’t hurt when those two colors make animal print 🙂  I also love to pair gold and pearls with winter white.

I accessorized with a matching two-toned trio “necklace, bracelet and earrings”.  I opted for open toe boots in the same neutral color pallet.

My BAG: today I went BIG…  This relaxed looked called for a much bigger bag.

Sunday Look: Maxi In The Wind

Happy Sunday!  What a windy day today… So windy I decided not to wear a dress or skirt didn’t want any blow ups! LOL.

Today’s look, the “Maxi” perfect for a windy day.  I purchased this maxi about three years ago and never wore it until today.  Its Grecian of sorts.  It certainly is form fitting and I’m so happy I was able to fit into it today 😉 .  It came with a thin belt from the same fabric that I did not wear around my waist.

That brings me to accessories; I added a wide belt (instead of the original).  I felt a bit more comfortable with this wide belt since the dress was so form fitting. The (original fabric ) belt served as my necklace which I tied into a double bow.  A bit non-traditional but it works!  A gold pointed toe shoe finished the look.  Well, when outside my oversized round sunnies finished the look!

Somehow my Fitbit always makes an appearance in photos, I forget to remove it every time 🙂 addicted!

My BAG; which I’ve worn before, this fun “fringe” clutch. I like to add a bit of whimsy or fun when I can through my handbags. NO RULES…

Sunday Look: Cape Jacket

Happy Sunday… My how time is flies, we are already halfway through this month.  Since we are having a “warm winter” 🙁  it’s kind of tough finding something to wear for the season.  That brings me to today’s outfit.  The Cape Jacket, I started admiring these cape jackets last winter.  When the time came to purchase one I was hesitant.  I loved them in print and on other people but I wasn’t feeling it on me.  But, I really like it.  I had to listen to my own motto “If you like it, wear it” So, that’s what I did today!
This cape jacket has a beautiful lace overlay and pockets. Upon purchasing I had no idea what bottom I would pair with the jacket.  One day I ran across this black/blue lace skirt and I immediately thought “this would go great with my cape jacket”… Today it all came together.
I LOVE THE LOOK…

To accessorize I decided NOT to wear a solid color shoes, only because there was so much Navy. The two-toned shoes added an extra shade of (blue)color.  I continued my accessories with multiple strand pearls.  I tried on about three different strand of pearls, but the multiple strand really made the outfit look “high fashion”  after all I am wearing a cape! 🙂 .
My BAG; keeping with the blue theme, I carried this satin blue clutch with a jeweled and gold tone closure.  Black would have worked as well.
Style Tip: I really think this cape could be toned down with a pair of skinny or wide leg jeans.  Accessories can make a HUGE difference on the type of look you get.  How would you restyle this cape?

Sunday Look: Black Velvet If You Please… “Birthday Outfit”

Image result for its my birthday images

Black Velvet if you please… It’s my Birthday!!  I’ve had an awesome weekend celebrating my birthday.  It has been nothing but eating good food and shopping.    Today after church I was treated to some Soul Food from a local restaurant Yall’s.

What does one wear on their birthday? Velvet!  Not only is velvet the perfect winter fabric but its trending right now! SO I guess I’m trending 🙂 .

Today’s outfit could be considered a two piece but it’s not.. A black blazer is always a good idea no matter what you choose to wear with it or the fabric. I was so excited when I saw that the skinny pant came in the same fabric. I love a skinny leg pant that hit at the ankle just right. A skinny leg pant goes great with a flat or my favorite; the pointy toe pump. Any undershirt would work under the blazer. I chose a turtle neck.

My accessories: to break up all the black I added a sparkly STATEMENT necklace, it really stands out against the black. I kept my earring simple with large skinny hoops.  I also added a single black and silver bangle.

My BAG: I call this satin half circle handbag my “bug bag”.  The jeweled bug is unexpected and fun.

Sunday Look: Happy New Year- Ivory Skirt & Top

Happy New Year!  Welcome to the first Sunday of 2017.  It’s hard to believe that another year has gone and a new one is upon us.  I’m sure we can all reflect on good, bad, happy and sad times in 2016.  Lucky for us we all get a new beginning starting today, so let’s make the best of 2017.

I didn’t know how I wanted to start my look for 2017.  I really enjoyed wearing all that RED last month.  But, a New Year a New Look!  I decided to keep it pretty simple and classic.  I chose an ivory skirt and top.  As you know from past posts I adore the pencil skirt.  My top is pretty basic adorned with a black collar that flows into a tie.  The tie eliminated the need for a necklace, making my accessories minimal.  I only needed a bag and earrings, I added a single bangle just because.  I wore black patent leather pointy toe pumps 😉 .

My BAG, black satin clutch with clear rhinestones.  That completes today’s outfit!
