Sunday Social: Pink, Purple & Pearls

sunday-10-30

Happy Sunday. Today was “Women’s Day” at Church. The guest speaker, She was AWESOME!!  Our colors “Pink, Purple & Pearls” .   I’ve known about this day for a few months now.  Why was I so baffled as to what I was going to wear?  For starters, I only have about two or three items in my wardrobe that’s pink.  That’s one color you will hardly ever see me wear.  Over the summer I wore a pink crop pant that’s about it.  I must confess, I did go shopping for something Pink, but to no avail…  I think its just the time of year.  Thank goodness PURPLE was in the mix.  No, I did not purchase a new dress.  This one is VERY OLD like six years or so.  The majority of the women today wore PURPLE (whew)!
Part of this theme (PINK) was for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Last year was Blue with Pink Flower.  I recycled the flower into my belt since I needed a little more “PINK“.  The Pearls part was easy.  Every girl has a strand or two of pearls in her jewelry box.  If you don’t, you should run out and get a strand.  One thing about Pearls, they’re versatile… you can wear them with anything from jeans to a formal.  So there you have it! Wear your “PEARLS” LOL….
Most of today’s accessories were Pearls.  My BAG was a iridescent pink hue fold clutch!  Pretty simple, the cause, GRAND…  Breast Cancer Awareness (click here)

Sunday Social: Autumn Hues

 sunday-10-23-stitch
Happy Sunday!  If I must say so myself, time is really flying.  We will be preparing for Thanksgiving before we know it.
My morning dress rehearsal started off with a blazer and skirt.  I quickly changed my mind thinking I would be too warm in a blazer.  This time of year I look forward to wearing all the “Autumn Hues”.  I purchased this dress a couple of years ago.  It fit, then it didn’t, now it fits again!  Perfect timing to take advantage of the “fit”.  As you can see in the photos this dress is very versatile.  I can go from Church to the Pumpkin Patch with one simple change from high heels to cowboy boots.  I get excited when I can wear an outfit a second time with a completely different look.  I think I will hit the Pumpkin Patch this week with the grand girls.

Sunday Social: Grey & Blue Pinstripe Fit-and-Flare

sunday-16th

Hello everyone!  Remember last week I said we had a wedding to attend today following church.  Beautiful wedding.  Little did I know it was going to be OUTSIDE.  I knew beforehand it was casual.  I chose a dress that I thought would work for both church and a casual wedding.   Normally one would not wear linen in Fall but this is Texas, it was in the 80’s. My body says it’s still Summer no matter the season.  There was a lady sitting next to me and she said: “I knew we were going to be outside so I wore my summer dress” (she had on a rayon black, white and yellow dress) I told her “we live in Texas, those rules don’t apply”.  Some were wearing shorts (smart)!  The bride and her bridesmaids were barefoot, what does that tell ya? LOL.
By the time I got around to taking photos I was completely melted 🙂 .   Like linen does, it wrinkles.  Like I said, I was melting LOL.
I wanted to have a bit of bling,  I wore a multi-stone statement necklace.  Added small earrings, a single bangle and silver watch.  My BAG today is  “old” wait until you see who it’s by.  Since I was attending a wedding I wanted something small with sparkle to compliment my casual dress.  It’s ok to mix and match dressy and casual whenever and however you like.  Who likes to wear shredded jeans and sparkly high heels? ME! 😉

Sunday Social: Stepping into Fall

sunday2

Hello everyone!  We had the most amazing lunch after church.  We tried out one of our new restaurants, Salt Traders Costal Cooking it was very good, I had to share.   Last week was pretty busy and the weekend was jammed packed as well.  No time at all to plan my outfit for today.  I’m in the middle of redecorating my “closet/dressing room“.  My stuff is all over the upstairs area of my house making it hard to find anything.  I cannot believe all of that was in one room LOL…  I managed to pull out this two piece jacket and skirt.  It’s amazing how your wardrobe can go in and out of style in just a matter of years.  I hardly ever purge my closet, I’m always thinking “oh this will come back in style”  The colors are perfect for Fall.  The jacket is vented around the raised stitching which helps because it certainly isn’t cool enough (here) yet for a jacket (at least not for me). I wore a thin gold camisole under the jacket. Loving the full short skirt (my favorite).  I thought about paring it with a pair of booties, I just had a pedicure no sense in covering up my freshly painted toes LOL!
I accessorized with gold pearls, sparkly earrings and stretchy bracelets.  My sling back heels I’ve had for years.  That’s what I like, everything has a purpose no matter how long you’ve had them 😉 .  Lets talk about my BAG, I was so obsessed when I spotted it a couple of years ago.  I paid a little more than I normally would but it was the only one and I had to make it mine.  I love mixing different textures and patterns together.  Remember there are no rules!  I liked it and I wore it…
Next week on Sunday we are invited to a wedding. A Casual Wedding.  I’ve never attended an afternoon casual wedding before.  Not sure what I will pull together, it will have to serve double duty.  We will be going there immediately after church.  Stay tuned!  xo

Welcome to the First Sunday in October!  Today I’m taking it to the MAX!!  Maxi dress, big bag and 5 1/2 inch heels (I lined up four different shoes to see which one had the highest heel) giving me the added height I needed for such a long maxi dress.  When you are 5ft. 4in. you have to come up with creative ways to stand tall 😉

The floral skirt and solid black bodice transitions well into a Texas Fall morning.   Later on… I can add a cardigan or denim jacket. “This dress was a steal of a deal”

I accessorized with a belt (to cinch my waist), long tri-color necklace, tri-color earrings, single glass bangle and gold watch.  Today I brought out the BIG BAG, I call this one my “doctor bag”…xo
